I just saw the image that was posted from the Maya Chan webcam - I love it! That was MrTexTJ standing over me either demonstrating his drinking prowess and/or shooting me with his GoPro.

At one point today he said, "you know, you can call me John."

"NO WAY! You're MrTexTJ - please stay in character!"

Such a fun day.

Thanks for all the detail. Enjoyable read. You posted a photo of the TV in your room showing the ship about half way across the Gulf on the first sea day. Was that in the morning of Day 2? Sailing Dawn on New Years and hope it will be warm enough by the afternoon to be on deck on Day 2. And do you recall when they served Prime Rib? It's usually pretty good.

On my recent New England cruise the Concierge was running a visual check

of the guests permitted in this seating area. If you were in a suite on deck 12

you were welcomed with your own guests to find a seat in the balcony loft

port side - closer to the stage a separate area was signed for the Garden DOS

and OS (hence the sign with the removable placard to adjust the capacity of

the reserved space).

This was nice in that the GV DOS and OS guests could linger to the last minute

having a leisure late dinner and still make the show without trying to find

suitable seating - also on some sailings the area had a beverage steward to

serve drinks until curtain call. Most of the folks in this area had the UBP and

there was no fuss about paperwork and signing receipts. A perfect world of

customer service !

I had 4 guests and my Sister and BIL and service was par excellence it was

not ever crowded except the night the house was brought down with the

closing act of a Neil Diamond presentation - SRO everywhere - surprised the

ship was not standing on end plunging into the waves and porpoiseing out !

If Sue had been there it would have been a show stopper no guest manifest

necessary for entrance !

Keep up the great photo shoot and documentary - Doug !

Sue just commented that we haven't fought yet this trip.

Well... it's 8pm, I'm well rested, and I'm just now being served my first non-day-drinking cocktail. The night is dangerously young for such a comment.

Sue just scolded me that salty snack consumption is one piece at a time, not a pinch at a time. I disagree.

So heading up shortly to Cagney's dinner with Alain. I'm not sure if I'll be brave enough to post live throughout - but I'll definitely time warp afterwards if needed.

It definitely has potential for an interesting conversation.

About to walk...

Me too husband: Omg did you see Sue's outfit tonight? It is sooo cute! Husband: Sue who? Me: you know! Sue and Doug! Husband: huh?

A long time later... Hey there's an update on the cruise critic thread! I got all excited only to realize it wasn't an actual Doug outr Sue update. Can't wait to read more.

Thank you so much for posting this week Doug, we are loving all the updates and can't wait for our turn next month! I am with many others that are ready to book Maya Chan after today. It looks so fun!
