SeaWatch12 Posted December 22, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 22, 2016 I just found this terrific article/interview about the Summit's Capt Kate. Here is the link: http://redshoemovement.com/in-male-dominated-occupation-captain-kate-is-queen/ I had the honor of being one of her passengers earlier this year. fielddreamer Posted December 22, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 22, 2016 My wife and I got off the Reflection a couple of weeks ago and was at Mia to fly home and ran into Capt. Kate and her husband {and cat I might add} flying home on the same flight. It turns out she lives right near us. Had a great time with them and a really nice person ! Iamthesea Posted December 22, 2016 #4 Share Posted December 22, 2016 (edited) So did she have the cat onboard the Summit with her all this time? Edited December 22, 2016 by Iamthesea
Gonzo70 Posted December 22, 2016 #5 Share Posted December 22, 2016 (edited) So did she have the cat onboard the Summit with her all this time? Yes. Offered to cat sit for her during the November 26th cruise when she was off the ship for a couple of days mid-cruise presenting at a conference, but she had already made other arrangements (was missing my furbabies). alcpa1 Posted December 23, 2016 #6 Share Posted December 23, 2016 What the article failed to mention was Capt. Kate's compassion under stressful conditions. She was our captain last year when several passengers were killed on an independent shore excursion. She went above and beyond for the families of the injured and killed while keeping the passengers informed and involved. She will always be our favorite captain.
