Atlantis Resort Excursion Options

I've been looking at all the options for my upcoming Bahamas Cruise and it seems almost all of them include a stop at the Atlantis Resort, which seems to have a plethora of activities. But I'd kind of like the day to be on my own pace, not a guided tour of the resort and no adventure park, but maybe the dolphin encounter, so my question is, do I have to book thru the cruise ship or couldn't I just take a taxi to the Atlantis hotel and buy any activity or package of their things to do directly from them?

Yes, you can easily do Atlantis on your own. A taxi is around $4 per person.

The "excursion" to Atlantis isn't some group tour...it's basically transportation, and admittance to their facilities.

If you have NO interest in the water park, there is NO reason to go there and pay those big bucks! Google Nassau or get a guidebook...there are plenty of other things to do there!

You can easily grab a taxi and go over to the Atlantis without purchasing any pass and walk their shops, casino, and indoor areas. As well as Marina Village, and Margarittaville is nearby too.

You cannot walk up the day of and do the Dolphin Excursions, those book up really quickly, so you would want to book that early. You do not have to book with the cruise line directly there are other options that offer the Atlantis Dolphin Cay excursions at a lower rate, and freedom to enjoy on your own without strict time restrictions.

You can book any of the Atlantis experiences directly through Atlantis on their website. Under "Things to Do" select "Day Visitors" then "Make a day Booking". We just booked our Waterpark tickets directly through them and have printed off our vouchers which we will trade for wristbands at the activities desk when we arrive at the resort.
