splinkaone Posted January 7, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2017 Should we add our credit card pre cruise or wait until we board the ship? We have quite a bit of OBC and want to use it first and don't want to complicate things. Thanks

We have quite a bit of OBC and want to use it first and don't want to complicate things. Thanks I have been having trouble with a glitch in the online check in, trying to enter my credit card information to set up my sea pass account for over a year now. I just give up and enter "cash". Then when I get to the terminal for check in, I give them my credit card to enter that in for charges. Did that for my last cruise, but had a 300 OBC. We ended up not using all the OBC..go figure. ;) Of course my credit card was never charged and had no problems with it.
maryjaden Posted January 7, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 7, 2017 We have not had any problems adding out credit card right away. They have always used the OBC first.
robtulipe Posted January 7, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 7, 2017 OBC should be used first even if one has a credit card added to their account. I typically set up my onboard account as a cash one especially if I have lots of RCI provided OBC in case I want to draw some out in the casino. Having this avoids the 5% fee if a casino with drawl is from a credit card secured onboard account. You are allowed to charge up to $500, if all OBC is used, before any payment is required. Even then a credit card could be added to cover this. ;)

Cheap I guess. ;) :p But if I thought I would go over...have you gone to customer service desk mid cruise to add your credit card info to your account to pay balance? Desert Cruizers Posted January 7, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 7, 2017 (edited) You can go to Guest Relations anytime throughout the cruise if you wish to switch from cash to credit or visa versa, change credit cards without any problem. Our July cruise is only 7 days and I doubt we will be spending that much so considering going a cash acct for the first time or leave it on the credit card and pay at the end of the cruise with cash. I have already paid for DH's drink package. Edited January 7, 2017 by Desert Cruizers
