I have looking online about the casino on Harmony. I notice some people mentioning at VIP or Club Royale. Does anyone have or can point to information about this?

Club Royale VIP is earned by play in the Casino. Club Royale has been going through changes. I think it is in phase III of IV. It once was, once in, always in, now more geared towards current play. If you make Club Royale VIP, the discounts are pretty good on cabins. Not to mention a few perks.

If you are interested in Club Royale, I suggest you introduce yourself to the Casino Host shortly after sailing.

Are their any guideline to what it takes to get in or is it up to Casino Host to offer it?

To be eligible for anything "comped", you will have to gamble A LOT...much more than in Vegas!

What do you base this on?? Vegas for us always requires much more play for comp that Club Royale.

Are you talking 10k, 50k or 100k range

Okay dokey here we go!

OLD CR VIP program is history, does not exist

Player ID numbers no longer exist and an open invite to anyone gambling in the casino is tracked via their Seapass card.

SLOTS

With Seapass inserted into any slot anytime you play

For every $5 spent you will get 1 point

I won't bore you with the mathematics on this.

400 points will earn you a $100 certificate on a future cruise

2000 points will earn you a $500.00 certificate on a future cruise.

2400 points will earn you a $500.00 certificate or an inside cabin

3600 points will earn you a $750.00 certificate or an Oceanview cabin

4800 points will earn you a $1000.00 certificate or a Balcony cabin

Let's look at the scale, you will see it is not linear, and there is where the new program sucks!

There is no insentive to play past 2000 points.

This will make perfect sense to the frequent casino users.

As a couple I would hit 2000 points, then ask host for a duplicate card and then stop using the account hitting 2000, and top the other up to 2000 points.

That then is a combined $1000.00 a future cruise.

I have been in the program for 16 years or so and our last certificates of $1500.00 combined we used to pay down future cruises.

The latest is that certificates can NOT be applied to older bookings, but depends who you know at CR.

In summary

2000 points is a formula of (1pt per $5 active) let's call that $10k

You are not necessarily dropping $10k, as you will win a bit, use winnings, lose a bit, you get the idea.

If you hit 2000 points, the host will see this on their terminal and find you

Once you hit 400 points they will know who you are.

For free drinks that's no secret, old CR VIP members will have a sticker on their Seapass card.

This can be on card at check in, or the host can apply.

MLife players get vouchers, and some get stickers.

NOIR would certainly be stickered;)

Low rollers may be given a few drinks vouchers.

It used to be $5 bet per spin, over a 4hr period to get an invite to CR VIP program.

Introduce yourself to host if your bankroll looks to be in the range of what I have mentioned above.

TABLES

more complicated

Most ships now swipe your card on joining a table, they track your wager, but tracking then becomes more of a hit n miss scenario.

Let pit boss know you want to be tracked.

It used to be $50 minimum per hand for 4hrs a day on tables to possibly get a CR VIP Invite.

If you are in the higher league you may also be eligible for Casino rates on bookings, along with the certificate amounts.

Example we have 3 Royal Suites booked using casino rate, with certificates applied and they are cheaper than some JS's

Some say casino rates are equal across the board, IMO, I disagree with this:D

People report 40%-60% savings on published website prices.

Good luck in the casino

And if I can assist further, will do, the only game I have no experience with on any ship is craps:eek:

A little bird told me that there are 4 tiers, my signature might give that away:)

Best perspective I have heard of the program. Biggest issue I have, much harder to earn pts on short cruises, 3-4 Night, than longer cruises

On EN, had 700+ points next to last night and received $300. On Serenade, had 10,000 pts and $1000 free Balcony. We have always been able to use once on existing cruises.

After last cruise, Club Royale called and now I have a named person to call for bookings and needs. They try to stay in touch every couple of weeks.

We book a GS at minimum and with Club Royale, we pay less that balcony rates.

Just remember who gave you the magic phone number for CR;)

GS min is way to go agreed, you might want to look at 2018 RS prices when they are released in March/April.

That $10k CR1 certificate (16Q4C1) from Serenade, take a look is that your code:)

Or it maybe 17Q1C1

I read, in another thread, that CR will no longer allow you to use your certificates in combination with casino rates. If true, that's unfortunate and very new.

On our Feb Allure cruise we both earned certs and were able to apply them both to our upcoming Harmony cruise which had been booked before Allure using a very good casino rate.

If they're truly no longer allowing certificates to be appplied to bookings that were booked using a casino rate, the certificates will be virtually useless. The casino rate is always going to outdistance the certificate unless they are screwing with the casino rate, too !

You can apply a certifiate to a booking already at casino rate, sorry for any confusion.

The news on the block is some cannot apply to an existing booking.

I think former CR VIP members have a little bit more leg room, than new guests.;)

Yes, thank you for that phone number. Best phone call I made!!!

I used the certificate on upcoming Harmony cruise and it now resides in the trash. I had 7000 pts the night before end of cruise and certificate was for $750. These pts were calculated at 8pm the preceding evening preceding. When I played the last night until closing, the Casino Host advised me to call Club Royale as I had exceeded 10,000 pts, as my Certificate wouldn't reflect the last evening play. I didn't get a chance to call Club Royale, they called me on our drive home to inform me I jumped up.

So yes, thank you again.

All my discounts to date have been on existing booked cruises. However, I have not been able to apply a certificate to an existing Casino rate.

I may have a photo of my old certificate. If so I will post code.

Cruising in 18 days so don't expect to hit 10,000 again but will let you know what happens.

No need to upload image, was just wanting to know the code, it actually holds information on what new tier level you are;)

We have applied a certificate to an existing booking, which was heavily discounted using casino rate, just to clarify.

Good luck in 18

2000 points each is the way to go and roll the $1000.00 onto the next cruise you book. Treat yourself to a RS for 2019

Sorry. I didn't have $10,000 but 10,000 pts. I wonder how much one would need to play to get a $10k credit.

I am glad you came back to give your perspective. Last time I didn't listen.

Booking out so far for us is not a good idea. Although SO is a owner, her schedule depends and is somewhat dedicated by other institutions. We do the best we can and still enjoy 4 or more cruises a year. Get a RS and it really might mess us up. Lol

10,000 points is a nice bankroll, I know the dropped $$ on that :D

When we used to go at that level the GS's were free

And upgrades were a nice surprise at check in.

$10k credit would be $240,000.00 bankroll

If your dropping 1/4 million, you can pretty much pick your cabin:D

THANK YOU!

I have been in the program for 6-7 years now. Always got offers; it's never been a big deal. It was however extremely disappointing to make several calls to VIP Services and not have simple programs questions answered - you did an excellent job here of providing information that land based staff could not. As I'm not blaming them; they just don't seem informed and very confused about program details.

A simple question about - "do I still get my drink card at beginning of cruise?"

3 different reps / 3 different answers.

I was told my play was "strong" - I asked if this was relayed to Casino Host - no one could answer that question. Seemed a bit ridiculous -

I am loyal to a few players programs and do this for benefits and perks offered. Seems sad that the attitude is no loyalty -

I asked to be assigned a "host" as they tout they are changing the program to be designed like land based casinos - but.... they "don't" know if they do that or not -

I am loyal to Royal and I play... I hope they work out their bugs; I will continue to cruise and will continue to play - just feeling less valued these days.

Next cruise in March - we'll see what happens.

But thank you again for your post!!!
