I personally felt the quickest way to earn points on tables was on the craps table. Roulette had a $400 max on outside so hard to drive points. I don't play BJ as the table can be unfriendly and I go to the Casino to have fun, unwind, and drink a bit. There is other card games I might play too pass time. But, on the Craps table you can play more $ and drive up points. The house always have the odds in their favor. If the dice get hot, you can rack up some money. On craps, I probably had ~ $500-700 a game. I like playing a $100 on Don't pass and then back it up if the roll out is a low odds number (4&10). I generally put money on 6&8. I NEVER bet more than I can afford to lose.

10,000 points is a nice bankroll, I know the dropped $$ on that :D

When we used to go at that level the GS's were free

And upgrades were a nice surprise at check in.

I was offered a whole bunch of FREE cruises but the offer was for a balcony that was upgradable to a JS for a very small amount. One must still pay gratuities, port fees, and taxes.

SO and I cruise together. We have a great time together and she has a very stressful and time consuming job. I just wouldn't feel right or enjoy the cruise as much sailing alone so have passed on the sailings offered. They last offer included Oasis and Allure which surprised me. A lot of offers for the 4 night ships and 5 night out of Tampa as well.

Thank you for the detailed account of the new changes. I would fall into the newbie CR category. Last 2 cruises were 3 nighters on Majesty. Both times over the 2400 pts complete with certificates, and both time with VIP sticker. My question is...we have a 9 night coming up and i would much rather pull cash from the cashier than bringing a bunch of cash on the ship. How do they decide who gets the 5% waived and the drinks in the casino?

I have spoken to CR a few times and i get different answers. Our codes are YH07 and YHP5. Any assistance would be appreciated.

As Club Royale VIP, I have never been charged a surcharge at the Casino Cashier.

Someone also asked how to get the VIP sticker on your SeaPass. On the first evening the Casino opens, the Casino Host should be nearby or ask for them. They now have a list of cruisers with VIP status. The lists I saw also included a picture of the guest.

All my discounts to date have been on existing booked cruises. However, I have not been able to apply a certificate to an existing Casino rate.

I may have a photo of my old certificate. If so I will post code.

Cruising in 18 days so don't expect to hit 10,000 again but will let you know what happens.

I'm afraid I am not very skilled at adding images (actually, have NEVER done it) but I am trying to attach a .pdf of the booking where I was able to apply 2 certs to the same already-discounted (casino rate) cruise on Harmony. I know the casino code is of interest to some (I have no idea what any of it means). Of interest is the fact that one of the certs is coded as "slots" when neither of us so much as even brushes up against a slot machine. We are both table players. These were not particularly large certs (we've gotten bigger ones from time-to-time) but it demonstrates that we were able to successfully apply 2 certs to a booking that was already priced at the casino rate.

No need to upload image, was just wanting to know the code, it actually holds information on what new tier level you are;)

We have applied a certificate to an existing booking, which was heavily discounted using casino rate, just to clarify.

Good luck in 18

2000 points each is the way to go and roll the $1000.00 onto the next cruise you book. Treat yourself to a RS for 2019

Thanks for you information. More detailed then anywhere else.

I found the code for my $750 Certificate that was on my cabin door after 8pm.... that was when I had 7000 pts.... that evening I topped over 10,000 pts...

The code 16Q4C2 but was withdrawn the next day and replaced with another code which I no longer have.

I was able to discount our currently booked cruise on HOTS for April 2018. All others already had a discount applied for Casino rate.

I called my rep in Club Royale.... she gave me my new code..

16Q4C1

Have no clue what they mean. I surely don't think it is a free RS. LOL

We do stay in GS now for less than a Balcony would cost us... maybe even an interior... we just book the dates we want to go... price is not always a determining factor.

Decoded, would imply you are amongst the Top Tier Whales (Big Fishy):D

YH07, is a line item on your booking invoice, normally with no $ amount.

This is a flag to indicate to the host on the ship they have a CR VIP on a specific sailing.

YHP5 will reflect a discount you have received for slot or table play

I will go and check my codes to confirm 100% accuracy

Hope this helps.

Can confirm from looking at a few of our bookings

YHP5 Casino Slots (There will be a line item with $ discount per qualifying person)

YHO7 Club Royale (Informs host you are a VIP on that sailing booked)

SZ03 Casino Tables (There will be a line item with $ discount per qualifying person)

I am sure I have two other codes as well, will have to find older bookings to validate those.

To add first line item will be cruise fare

If you have a casino rate, second line item will purely say Casino Royale

I have YH07 on the invoice for all 5 of my future cruises. Does this mean that I'll automatically be a VIP (aka free drinks) on all of these? I'm on a short, 5 day cruise with 2 friends in 11 days and probably won't be playing cards as much as usual. I'm hoping I'm not penalized before my 11 day cruise in March when I'll be playing a lot.

Without knowing your bankroll and what you have dropped on previous cruises, I would not want to guess as to your comps.

The YHO7 really is an indicator so the Casino host knows you are on the ship.

If you have an old certificate and can tell me the code (I.e 16Q3C4) I may be able to have a better shot on the sticker:)

Okay dokey here we go!

OLD CR VIP program is history, does not exist

Player ID numbers no longer exist and an open invite to anyone gambling in the casino is tracked via their Seapass card.

SLOTS

With Seapass inserted into any slot anytime you play

For every $5 spent you will get 1 point

I won't bore you with the mathematics on this.

400 points will earn you a $100 certificate on a future cruise

2000 points will earn you a $500.00 certificate on a future cruise.

2400 points will earn you a $500.00 certificate or an inside cabin

3600 points will earn you a $750.00 certificate or an Oceanview cabin

4800 points will earn you a $1000.00 certificate or a Balcony cabin

Let's look at the scale, you will see it is not linear, and there is where the new program sucks!

There is no insentive to play past 2000 points.

This will make perfect sense to the frequent casino users.

As a couple I would hit 2000 points, then ask host for a duplicate card and then stop using the account hitting 2000, and top the other up to 2000 points.

That then is a combined $1000.00 a future cruise.

I have been in the program for 16 years or so and our last certificates of $1500.00 combined we used to pay down future cruises.

The latest is that certificates can NOT be applied to older bookings, but depends who you know at CR.

In summary

2000 points is a formula of (1pt per $5 active) let's call that $10k

You are not necessarily dropping $10k, as you will win a bit, use winnings, lose a bit, you get the idea.

If you hit 2000 points, the host will see this on their terminal and find you

Once you hit 400 points they will know who you are.

For free drinks that's no secret, old CR VIP members will have a sticker on their Seapass card.

This can be on card at check in, or the host can apply.

MLife players get vouchers, and some get stickers.

NOIR would certainly be stickered;)

Low rollers may be given a few drinks vouchers.

It used to be $5 bet per spin, over a 4hr period to get an invite to CR VIP program.

Introduce yourself to host if your bankroll looks to be in the range of what I have mentioned above.

TABLES

more complicated

Most ships now swipe your card on joining a table, they track your wager, but tracking then becomes more of a hit n miss scenario.

Let pit boss know you want to be tracked.

It used to be $50 minimum per hand for 4hrs a day on tables to possibly get a CR VIP Invite.

If you are in the higher league you may also be eligible for Casino rates on bookings, along with the certificate amounts.

Example we have 3 Royal Suites booked using casino rate, with certificates applied and they are cheaper than some JS's

Some say casino rates are equal across the board, IMO, I disagree with this:D

People report 40%-60% savings on published website prices.

Good luck in the casino

And if I can assist further, will do, the only game I have no experience with on any ship is craps:eek:

A little bird told me that there are 4 tiers, my signature might give that away:)

Guess that leaves us out...Were not much gamblers but do like the casino bars[emoji23]

That is a pretty good discount. What cabin type?? We typically go with a GS.

The one that I posted was for an A1 on Harmony (2 BR ATS - 8330).

I would never have paid $11k for that room but $6200 was palatable. Then when they took another $1250 off for 2 certs, it made it a real bargain !

We were in a GS over Christmas and NY and got a good price on that, too. 44% off full retail plus the last of our cash rebates from the old program got deducted from the price on that one.

That is a great discount... now that we are C1, we might try booking a Star Class Suite next time we take an Oasis Class ship.

I checked, a ATS is Sky Class... big price jumps to Star Class....

On a ship now. Casino perks are not as good now as they were last month. Players now have to qualify for free drinks based on play from their previous cruise. ( My sister is a long time VIP and they checked her last cruise points before giving her drinks). Points seem to be harder to accrue. Talk was that players can no longer get casino rate and use certificates for $ off trip. I thought the new program was too good to be true and sadly I might be right.
