Casino

On a ship now. Casino perks are not as good now as they were last month. Players now have to qualify for free drinks based on play from their previous cruise. ( My sister is a long time VIP and they checked her last cruise points before giving her drinks). Points seem to be harder to accrue. Talk was that players can no longer get casino rate and use certificates for $ off trip. I thought the new program was too good to be true and sadly I might be right.

Yes, that is the way I understood it to be. It's not what you did back when but what you are doing now.

hey Troy,

One thing to consider ( I too am a club royale guy, and always get my suites comped)....

If you pay the extra money to get a star class.. you are somewhat limiting your casino benefits.. What I mean by that

1. you cant make use of the casino free drink offer (because you are paying for it as part of the star class perks)**** fyi, if you do have a drink package or star class. make sure the casino servers

know that you are so your drinks dont get charged off to the casino ( which does affect part of your comp offers)

2. since Star class includes starbucks, the speciatly resteraunts, the ice cream, etc. if you do play a lot ( like I do) there will essentially be nothing for the casino to comp off your bill...

The star class is great, I am not taking anything away from that. but think of it sorta like this.... Since you would be getting free drinks in the casino, would you still buy a drink package?

Thats just how I look at it. HOWEVER, if everyone else in your group did not gamble, then it could be of value to have a star class room

Great points, thanks. Are you getting a fully comped Suite or just partial?? We typically stay in GS, have been both getting DP (might reconsider), free drinks Casino, drinks in CL. I will advise the Casino on Allure we have DP.

So what, in the code, gives you the information about what tier you are ?

We got 1 each on our last cruise (NAV). Both are coded 16Q4C3

Troy has deduced correctly

C1 would indicate a larger bankroll spent, with a $1000 certificate

C2 $750.00

C3 would or is a $500 certificate

C4 would be $400 - $100 (no free cabin)

Pretty much anyone who bankrolls $500 in the casino can get a C4

So based on certificate type, this would indicate level of play and hence which tier punters have achieved.

Just remember who gave you the magic phone number for CR;)

GS min is way to go agreed, you might want to look at 2018 RS prices when they are released in March/April.

That $10k CR1 certificate (16Q4C1) from Serenade, take a look is that your code:)

Or it maybe 17Q1C1

Is there a different phone number that I don't know about??? Please share:D

  • 1 year later...

For what it's worth, this time around I tracked (exactly) my casino budget on Rhapsody for a 7 night cruise. The casino's take was $5200, all on blackjack tables. I walked onto this cruise with the money I was willing to lose in cash, and walked off of the cruise and counted what was left -- so this is exactly how much they made off of me.

They quit asking for my sea pass (for drinks) pretty early, since I had the premium drink package and tipped with chips on drinks, and they got to know me. I'd estimate I played 3-4 hours of blackjack any day the casino was open.

Other than that, perks-wise: it was pretty weak. I was in a junior suite (solo) and got a casino cert good for specific cruises, or allegedly $750 off a future cruise. I tried to use it at the NextCruise desk, but was told they couldn't apply it, but if I called after I booked there it would be applied. Based on what I've read here, I'm skeptical but will report back.

Friends in a Grand Suite, also blowing money at the casino at a similar rate, got a complimentary bottle of cheap champagne and chocolate covered strawberries.

I interacted on a first-name basis with the casino host, pit boss, dealers and staff bringing drinks around -- and they were all awesome. It's kinda apparent however that ~$5K spent in a casino isn't really going to be on their comp radar.

The thing I have noticed on my last few cruises is that they tend to "terminate" your play tracking at least 1 full day before the end of the cruise. The last 2 times I have had to go back to the host/hostess and have them recalculate my points and both times it ended up that they had to upgrade my certificate. So you have to watch them. Make SURE that you are getting EVERY point you are actually earning towards comp/certificates. If you don't do it, nobody will.
