Rare BirdTravels Posted February 11, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 11, 2017 Effective for sailings July 15, 2016 and beyond, guests are prohibited from bringing any beverages -- including liquor, beer and non-alcoholic drinks such as water, soda and juices -- on board either as carry-on or checked luggage, with the exception of purified or distilled water in factory-sealed containers for use in conjunction with medical devices or for the reconstitution of infant formula; and fully sealed and/or corked wine bottles for personal consumption onboard that is subject to screening and a corkage fee (for guests 21 years of age or older). Open beverages of any kind must be consumed or discarded at the security check-point, on embarkation day and at any port of call. This revised policy brings the company in line with other best practice travel security protocols and reduces the need for individual time consuming screening and package inspection of large volumes of beverages. Apparently, the $15 corkage fee negates the security risk.
mjh2w1 Posted February 11, 2017 #6 Share Posted February 11, 2017 If you need distilled water for a CPAP machine, email the NCL Access Desk (accessdesk@ncl.com) and they will send you a form to fill out that will allow them to provide you with distilled water in your cabin. There was no mention about a charge, so I'm assuming the water is gratis! We'll see. You must make the request in writing at least 5 days prior to your cruise. Just print out the form, fill it in, scan it, and email it back. This works better for anyone going directly from the airport to the ship. However, you can bring your own if you desire. Keep in mind you can preorder bottled water to be delivered to your stateroom before the cruise. It's under Beverage Packages, under Explore and Plan, in your My NCL account. Cheaper than buying once on the ship.

Sid: Nice to see you back on the board. Your grandsons must be big boys by now. As others have already said, NCL no longer allows you to bring soda or water on board. The almighty $ reigns supreme!
