tootsiescurly Posted February 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2017 We prefer not to book excursions with the ship. What non-cruise ship excursions have you booked for Juneau? Which company did you use?
Italy52 Posted February 16, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2017 In Juneau, whale watching is a priority for us --- we have used two independent companies: Harv & Marv and Weather Permitting. If you look at Trip Advisor you will find a lot of positive comments about both companies.
Budget Queen Posted February 16, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2017 You need to figure out what tours first. THEN you can compare vendors. Take a look at your shore excursion list and narrow down your interests. Otherwise do you just want a "list" of vendors? http://www.traveljuneau.com
ponstad Posted February 16, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2017 We did a walking tour of Juneau that we enjoyed. Our guide tailored his information to our interests. Check out http://www.aksightseeing.com/HistoricalWalk.html

anniesusie Posted February 18, 2017 #8 Share Posted February 18, 2017 We used Juneau Whale Watch. They brought us to Mendenhall glacier after. It is a pretty easy town to get around in. They recommended a great restaurant too. Tracy's Crab Shack. oh my oh my!
Mitch2016 Posted February 19, 2017 #9 Share Posted February 19, 2017 We have booked the Taku Lodge 5 Glacier Flightseeing and Salmon Bake.....afterward, we are possibly going to do a whale watch or Mendenhall Glacier. Undecided at this point, but leaning toward Mendenhall

If you look at Trip Advisor you will find a lot of positive comments about both companies. We wanted to go with Harv & Marv, but they were sold out and we were trying 3 months ahead of time. Wound up with Juneau Whale Watch which is a lot less than the cruise ship charges.

Well new to this whole thing so I did and actually got 20% off because we were a group of 6+. I'm ok with doing it early that way it's done. darin2 Posted September 16, 2017 #15 Share Posted September 16, 2017 Harv & Marv. Just got back a few weeks ago. Great communications, prices are fair, outstanding skipper and naturalist, saw tons of whales and wild life. The boat was just right for our group. Herfnerd Posted September 17, 2017 #16 Share Posted September 17, 2017 Juneau Whale Watch was who we went with for our Whale watch/ glacier tour. Had an awesome time. There were plenty of vendors on the dock when we got off the Eurodam a couple of weeks ago.... Sent from my iPad using Forums
