I've got a few questions (TIA).....

1. Do you need to get a "tender ticket" before loading the tender?

2. Do the grand suites also get priority unloading at HMC?

3. If you don't get a cabana or clam shell, it's there free shade to retreat to?

We're really looking forward to HMC. I've heard it's not much for snorkeling but we're still taking our own snorkel gear.

Get a cabana for 4, it was under $300 for the whole day. We had snorkeling gear, rafts, drinks, chips and salsa, a fruit platter and veggies with dip. It was a day of paradise and worth the money. We booked it at the guest services desk and we're so happy we did. Plus if you book a cabana you're one of the first tenders off the ship899b7565dd9268f281f356fb0c691bad.jpgf6aa48a46e3492785ee83adc0ed82fe6.jpg

You were really lucky, too, if you walked up and got a cabana onboard ship. They virtually always sell out well before embarkation...and with good reason; they're one of the best excursions Carnival offers.

Anyone know how much it costs to add a 5th person to a cabana?

Carnival won't tell us. :o

From Carnival's excursion page:

"Price listed is per cabana, (not per person) and good for up to 4 persons, therefore only one person needs to book. For groups with more than 4 guests, an 'extra person surcharge' for the Cabana rental must be purchased for guests 5 & 6 (a maximum of 6 guests per cabana). Housekeeping will begin cleaning 1.5 hours before departure."

.....but I think it's around $50.

They won't know or care if you have another person, you don't get any more towels or food.

Not in my experience on the Conquest-class ships I've visited HMC on.

If you are entitled to priority tendering (FTTF, excursion booked, Diamond, Platinum), you'll be informed as to where to meet -- it's usually in a lounge for people who have excursions booked. I believe Diamonds and Plats can go to Guest Services before arrival at HMC and they'll escort you downstairs to Deck 0.

2. Do the grand suites also get priority unloading at HMC?

I don't think so.

Yes, there's a fair amount of shade from trees...the earlier you get there the better, of course. Also, the picnic areas have roofs and are shaded.
