Casino Royale Booking Question(s)

Recommended Posts

It was changed, according to CR on April 7. Btw I will be on the Anthem with you, I am a friend of Linda's - I'm doing a b2b leaving Saturday and plan to call them before I leave to make sure there are no other changes - I've gone through every change they made quite painfully. My certificates become worthless if certificates can't be applied against C&A. I do get the 150 %. Casino rates are not geared for singles.

Looking forward to meeting you on the 6th.

I have always received the casino rate + a reduction equal to the value of the certificate. What has changed, from my experience, is that if you choose to apply the value of a certificate to an already-existing [casino rate] booking, they will reprice the cruise at the current rate. In the past, I was able to simply apply the value of a certificate to the balance remaining on an already booked cruise. They no longer allow that....you can apply the certificate but they reprice the cruise so it is often not profitable to do that. I have been forced to book a new cruise in order to use the certificate but I have always been able to combine both the casino rate and the certificate value - at least, I have in the past. Maybe it's changed again ! It's sad to say but it really does depend on who you get on the other end of the phone.

All of my cruises I used certificates on have been repriced. That's not just CR, it's any cruise booked with Royal. Any changes except changing to another cabin in the same category, will be repriced. I book all my cruises when they are first released. Right now I am booked up until March 2019. I have lost out on the full value of some of my certificates when I go to apply them to my already booked cruises. Some I have been lucky and the price didn't change, or I have been able to use the value of the certificate to upgrade my cabin from a SB to a regular balcony.

  • You are correct about the repricing. That is true when applying certificates to either C&A rates, or casino rates. Certificates can be applied against casino rates, but, like you said, the repricing sometimes precludes you using the certificate against an already booked cruise, especially if you booked the cruise when the itineraries are announced (which I do). However some of us can't book the casino rate as solo C&A rates are cheaper.

When you sit down at any table, you'll give the dealer your sea pass card and your money or let him/her count the chips you bring with. He/she will then key the info into his "counter". If you buy more chips during your play, that info is added as well. When you're done playing, he/she will ask to count your remaining chips and then enter that info. The machine calculates how long you played. Your points earned is based on this time. The supervisor may at some point add info on your average play at a separate computer but I was told length of play is most important.

No need to ever ask to be rated. It's done automatically.
