Star - Mini-Suite midship or not??

We recently booked a midship mini-suite on the Star. I am looking at pictures of the ship and it looks like those cabins have an overhang from deck 12 above them. Is this bothersome or does it make it better?

The overhang is awesome. Really protects you from the rain. You can sit out there in pouring rain and stay dry. It also gives you some extra shade depending on where the sun is. The mid ships also have full dividers between balconies but the others have only partial dividers. No privacy.

How much time do you honestly spend on your balcony during a cruise?
