So...obviously something went wrong here and I must have hit the rotating button to off of "underwater"

Ok, time to clear the mask again...ugh.

I must have noticed my settings at this point...but notice somehow I obtained a smear mark on the lens...which would remain on the lens during the dive. I have no idea how this happened.

Sakari was busy getting close ups when she could.

P4200106%20copy-L.jpg

I thought I'd try too...only the macro function would be for the above water setting and none would turn out right.

I love the beauty of parrot fish and the many colors they turn during their life cycle.

As we came around this area, there was a bend and this huge rock stuck out above the water. It was pretty dark in this area and Sakari managed to capture all the fish in the area swimming around it...something I was unable to do when I tried.

I just love this beautiful picture she captured of the elkhorn coral with the different colors of the ocean in the background.

Do you notice how close she is to these striped Damsel fish. She managed to get a lot of close ups of fish and I'm not sure how. They usually scurry off quickly when I get close. Maybe they "just know" with her.

I think this was actually the area where they were working on something from the barge. Once again, somehow my setting got messed up.

I think this was my attempt of that same elkhorn that Sakari captured so perfectly.

Ok, back on track...and clearing my mask again...

The ocean floor was on a slope at times and we kinda went from shallow to deeper. Of course the closer you are up, the more sunlight you get and the pictures always look different to me. Although the one consistent thing with these pictures is the spot now on the lens. I guess I can count on it.

Now with this picture, I believe the hubby is trying to take my photography job in these reviews. I love this capture.

At least the hubby ended up with decent pictures. I'm still struggling with the color and settings.

Wait, so the Splendor does this same route too? I'll have to check this out.

The mermaid tails come from (put it all together) fin fun mermaid dot com. Sakari told me about it years ago and then I made her practice swimming with the feet/legs together for about 2 years before I was convinced that she earned her fin. :') We've been buying they from there since. So many styles to chose from and too little beach time for her!

The Splendor is doing the same route throughout the summer, on a 6 and 8 day alternating schedule until the Fall. Then it does all kinds of routes. We booked it purely based on the ports because they are all new for us.

Thanks for the website, I will take a look but I love the idea to make her practice *before* buying the fin!

Why the happy now instead of worried? Glad you are enjoying it Robin.

Hmm, I may have to check this out. I wouldn't mind repeating this route again.

Another attempt of a macro...on the wrong setting of course. But, I think it turned out kinda neat.

This is probably the closest I'll ever get to a "shipwreck", but only a tug boat instead.

This is a cool shot Sakari got. This must have been what she was going for when she was trying to climb in.

P4200124%20copy-L.jpg

It's funny just how many pictures we got of taking pictures of each other. It seemed to be a common occurrence that day.

P4200126%20copy-L.jpg

These two were constantly trying to get selfies together, only they don't have a wide angle lens and it didn't seem to wok out.

Ok, so look at this picture...do you notice Sakari's wrist? There's no camera on it. Well, she decided she wanted a selfie using her camera, took her camera off and handed it to her dad to take the picture. I did not see this going on because I was too busy clearing my mask and exploring. But, she didn't put the camera back on for awhile and I noticed it at a later point and freaked out because she was just carrying it...which is a good way to drop it and lose it. Especially in one of the areas I seen her without the strap around her wrist.

P4200128%20copy-L.jpg

Super huge parrot fish that caught Sakari's eye.

I guess these pictures are not in the exact correct order because this was the start of her trying to go in the hole for pictures...then the one of her in the hole, then the picture of the canon in the hole. Oops...I only said I was punctual, not orderly.

So this boat is supposed to be in 15 feet of water (I was told this by every company there that said they go to the tug boat). Is that 15' until you reach the tugboat or to the bottom, as in the ocean floor? Does anyone know? I'm not sure. But I can guarantee Sakari was all the way at the bottom (even though she was only supposed to be no more than 6 feet). She was loving every minute of it and I'm glad she got to go with us all the way. It made for the perfect experience.

P4201201%20copy-L.jpg

They are still attempting selfies...and she's still holding her camera with no strap on.

P4200116%20copy-L.jpg

P4200117%20copy-L.jpg

Daddy almost got them both. Sakari looks like she needs to clear her mask. I don't know how she can see like that.

P4190032%20copy-L.jpg

P4190030%20copy-L.jpg

...and we continued on. I guess the next place we would head to would be the "wall" and "drop off", which drops 150' I believe he said.

So some time around this point I discovered that Sakari was still holding her camera and didn't have it around her wrist. We were getting deeper and deeper and now on a decline. I flailed my arms around, cleared my throat...no wait, cleared my hands, and all previous scuba hand signals were thrown out the window at this point and I made up my own! Trust me, she got the point of what I was implying...you know that "mom" look you give your child and they know they better straighten up when you're in public? Well this was the "put that da** camera on your wrist and keep it there" look. It looks like Ro captured her putting it back on.

P4200128%20copy-L.jpg

Ok, you got it back on? Good...don't let me catch you take it off again!

P4200126%20copy-L.jpg

Alright...carry on with the picture taking...

P4200127%20copy-L.jpg

How the heck is she seeing? Mine would fog just the slightest and I couldn't see anything and have to clear it.
