Harrah's Norwegian Cruise Line Giveaway

If anyone has used a Norwegian Cruise Line cruise certificate for 2, inside cabin, 7 days, can you please comment on the following...the initial notification states destination options include the Caribbean or the Mexican Riviera. Would Norwegian consider allowing instead, a 7-day Florida, Bahamas (Port Canaveral, Great Stirrup Cay & Nassau) cruise rather than the "Caribbean." We have never taken advantage of one of the certs, and we know we will pay for the port taxes, grats, etc. We would most likely pay for a cabin upgrade as well, but we could only do a cruise from NY and the Caribbean isn't an option.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Have you picked up your certificate yet? It will come with a sheet that lays out all of the cruises it is good for and a brochure showing the cruises you can choose from. We received the cruise certificate from Caesars (same company essentially) and have an eastern Caribbean cruise booked in November. There were a lot of options to choose from though, including the Bahamas from New York if I remember correctly.

Not sure if the newest ones from Harrah partnering with CAS has similar wordings, those issued recently by Golden Nugget has, in finer prints on the bottom, stating that in addition to the specific offering listed to select from, the certificate (letter issued with the code/number) has a trade-in or residual value for other sailings. They're given about 2 months to book and up to a year to sail, out of NY/Boston, also Miami, West Coast and even some European ones.

Call & ask CAS when you book and be prepared with your sailing dates so that the rep/agent can check & quote you ... do your own homework / research. Our friend are sailing this weekend on a previous offer booked last November. He has also been receiving direct offers from CAS to sail NCL directly - based on his level of play.

I received certificate from Ballys in Atlantic City which also allowed me inside cabin, 7 days, Mexico or Caribbean. I called the number on the certificate once I picked it up and they said the "trade in" value to cruise out of NY was $500 total. You would still get the casino drink card...I'm still deciding what to do...

The 7-day Bahamas is a "Caribbean" cruise. Your cert should cover that cruise.

The Caesars certs are a pretty good deal. You will still be responsible for $200ish in taxes and port fees and $140 in administration fees per person.

And you get a free drinks card valid at the casino bar when the casino is open.

On our recent cruise, about 12% of the passengers on board were casino guests (land-based casino certs and NCL Casinos and Seas guests). The week before, the same ship hosted nearly 25% of the passenger as casino guests. Lots of people sailing in comp'ed or discounted rooms.
