Thanks for posting all the menus and compasses! We are sailing soon and I have been told the drink package only includes drinks up to $12. It seems by the menu most drinks are $13. Are you being charged for everything over $12 or over $13?

The Deluxe Drink Package has a limit of $13 per drink on Oasis Class ships. For some reason this is not explained in the description of the package.

Will you be attending or participating in The Quest game show tonight? I am interested in how Mitch does as cruise director.

 

And perfect timing having a port in Mexico on Cinco de Mayo. Ironically, I hear they don't really celebrate that in Mexico lol

I am not sure if we are doing Quest but I will definitely report back if I do! There was nothing different going on in Cozumel that unnoticed -it was the same as every other time

A little tip... if you are going to try to cheat on the drink package, do not order a drink with your wife's card, proceed to take a big swig of the beverage in front of the bartender, then try to order another one. In this instance, the gentleman was asked for his card after he took a drink of the drink and said it was his wife's drink, she was in the bathroom and he did not have a drink package. If you are going to try to cheat the system at least be smart about it! You can't fix stupid...

Also, RCL no longer uses Island Oasis drink mixes. The Island Oasis machines are also gone. They are now using Vitamix blenders. The bar staff I asked said RCL is totally done with that brand. He said I might come across some on the fleet, but as soon as inventory is gone, that is it

We went to the Eagle Tribute band last night - wow!! Here is a video of their Hotel California

 

So I have a pet peeve about shows and some fellow patrons. For the most part, cruise shows are 45 minutes or so. If you do not have the patience to sit through it, then don't go. If you do go and think you might want to/ have to leave early, then for goodness sake, do not sit in the front or even in the orchestra at all! There is nothing more annoying to fellow guests or passengers then leaving early in clear view of the band and the entire theatre. These are small venues - the band plainly sees you and it is really is rude. These performers have spent decades perfecting their act, the least you can do is commit to 45 minutes!!

Your funny. They sucked. My pet peeve is hire a sound engineer who could mix. That was total crap the one guitar was ridiculous loud. Could not hear the other two. What a joke, Feed back thru the show. I am suppressed more people did not walk out. And I'm glade they seen them walk out. That was total crap.

You must have been at a different show than we were - there were no production issues during the show we saw. I did hear some some complaints about the sound from last night's show (Thursday's) but Wednesday's was perfect.

When we were on the Allure week of Feb. 7th, accoustics were way off when we saw Mamma Mia. We were on again the week before this (4/23 to 4/30), didn't go to the show, but heard they were having sound problems. We had a "meet the cast" meeting on the last day (maybe you will have one tomorrow) and one of the lead singers told me they have been having problems for a very long time. Wouldn't you think they would get around to fixing it?

 

My husband and I have been involved in local theater for many years; me the actress/singer and he the sound and lights man. He tells me that if they wanted to fix it properly they could, without spending a zillion dollars. It behooves them to do something, since this show still has another three years to run.

... just looked at your Cruise Compasses, but I don't see a listing for NHL playoffs onboard anywhere??? Can you please let me know if ON-Air or the Irish/English Pub is playing any of the hockey playoff games???

I have still but seen any NHL games playing. Hubby says they are only showing stuff on ESPN 1 & 2 Caribbean so if the games are not playing on those stations you will likely not be seeing the games...

Thanks for the update Canadian Disney Mom!!! Appreciate the feedback.. :D

My guess is if my team goes any further in the NHL playoffs that I won't be seeing much hockey while cruising the Caribbean in 2 short weeks. ESPN (USA) doesn't have much coverage of hockey to begin with, and one can assume that a sport played on ice isn't too popular in the Caribbean. NBC Sports has the coverage for the NHL Playoffs.

Luckily, I have the internet/drink package and well I guess I'll be using that to get the scores!!

Thanks again and enjoy the rest of your cruise.... Looks like you're have a great time!! Make sure you get to cross Dazzles off your list, it's a great spot for people watching!!!

 

...some people AMAZE me at what they do to get around the drink package!!! :o

One question for you, I heard that mid-way through the cruise, there is an opportunity to buy a drink "punch card." Did you see or hear anything about something like that? I wasn't able to commit to the full drink package but would be interested in something like that. Thank you for giving us such a good preview.

We are Emerald. This was our first cruise as emerald. We were only expecting a beverage too as that was all that was listed in our profile. The sweets were a nice surprise
