Hoopster95 Posted May 16, 2017 Author #26 Share Posted May 16, 2017 Hey Larry, Thx for following [emoji4] Yep, they cut it and boxed it for us... We just sat at the Viking Crown windows to watch the sea go by and have our Sushi. A few other observations: Even though there's now sun, The library, casino, WJ, promenade, Viking Crown , and pretty much all Inside venues are packed this afternoon with very cold And windy weather. The bars are all In full swing including the R Bar and lounges. We're rocking and rolling a bit, one of The pools is netted and closed with water sloshing over the edges as the ship moves. Very few people out On deck even walking let alone sitting in loungers. I haven't seen a drink card... Bars are full, I don't think I'll See a drink card this cruise. We were booked on the First night done right" promo Last night. Like in Harmony in Jan, they did not have had reserved in any restaurant for Night one but both chops and Giovanni's had space for us. We're doing Chops tonight with my D+ BOGO. 70's night tonight's always fun. Does anyone have any questions? ce2178 Posted May 16, 2017 #27 Share Posted May 16, 2017 It seems like there are some new options in the Café Promenade and that the honey stung chicken was back in the WJ...any word on whether or not the new menu's have made their way to the MDR? Seems like new/different foods has made its way elsewhere.
Hoopster95 Posted May 16, 2017 Author #28 Share Posted May 16, 2017 Spirit of the Seasons Superb staff, barely any mistakes. Very good 1st show of four A few new offerings in the WJ for breakfast as well... Eggs florentine, seafood frittata, nice surprise This Morning.. I'm in chops tonight so if someone can chime In on anything new in the MDR go right ahead Sent from my iPhone using Forums
twincheryl Posted May 16, 2017 #29 Share Posted May 16, 2017 Spirit of the Seasons ice show was truly excellent. Wouldn't mind seeing it again. Have seen quite a few new things in WJ but haven't tried anything out of the ordinary. I agree that all the lounges and inside spaces are packed. It was gorgeous outside and by 3:30 the Solarium had many people soaking up the warm sun. Not a cloud in the sky... beats anything else I can think of... sitting on the balcony as we barely creep along! Hoopster95 Posted May 17, 2017 Author #30 Share Posted May 17, 2017 Thanks to Sallyr on CC to open up her owners suite (the Monserat suite on deck 10) for a M&M today. Huge success Sent from my iPhone using Forums
LarryL Posted May 17, 2017 #31 Share Posted May 17, 2017 Really looking forward to seeing the ice show. I'm still impressed with the one we saw on the Liberty a few years age. They do skate so well as the ship moves. Because of the direction you traveled the first night, I have to ask what kind of light you had outside when you left the straits into the open sea. My hope is to be able to get some telephoto shots of Bahokus Peak on the extreme NW part of the Olympic Peninsula, as well as Tatoosh Island. I was stationed there in the late 70's, at a radar site, and remember seeing ships in the straits. I am looking forward to your posts. I enjoyed your review from last year as well. Hoopster95 Posted May 17, 2017 Author #32 Share Posted May 17, 2017 Hi Larry. We had gorgeous weather last night entering back into the Juan de Fuca strait, and we had full view of the peaks (western most tip) as we sailed in. I had to google Map tattoos island and sure enough that is exactly what we viewed while dining in Chops. It was beautiful sail in last night [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Hoopster95 Posted May 17, 2017 Author #35 Share Posted May 17, 2017 Whoops... Sorry Larry. I don't see how to edit Posts and I see now I mentioned "tattoo" island with auto spell instead of Tatoosh island lol [emoji4] Nanaimo is dead quiet this morning... The shuttle Buses that were lined up Last year are Empty this year and we're the only ones walking into the town. I think many fellow cruisers are staying on board perhaps. We're grabbing a rental car and heading up to Coombs and Cathedral Grove. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

twincheryl Posted May 18, 2017 #43 Share Posted May 18, 2017 Gorgeous pics... when we left the ship around 10:15 to go into town the line for the shuttle wrapped a very long way back to the terminal building. We decided to walk and catch the shuttle bus back. Beautiful day! Sent from my iPad using Forums
Thetrail Posted May 18, 2017 #44 Share Posted May 18, 2017 G'morn CC family! Just about to start my journey from the Vancouver area down to Seattle to embark on Explorer later today for the short "Best of BC" 4-day sailing. I did the same itinerary last year... if you expand my signature below I reviewed that sailing as well with plenty of ideas and thoughts about Victoria and Nanaimo for those that are interested. I'm trying something different this time... I hate staying connected when on vacation. I'm connected 24/7 and tied to my phone for work so I've always only posted reviews when I get home. This time I'll have my phone with me and I'll try posting a few photos as I go along this week and if there's any questions I can try answering them while I'm there (no guarantees!!). I'll also post a full review later when I get home (I'm going to try a different format for this as well). So off I go... bon voyage everyone :D Enjoy Hoopster!:D
