Elite Status Summit

It has been a long time in between cruises for my wife and me but we have Captains Club Elite Status. How can we maximize this level? Any recommendations as to what we should expect and/or request? Thanks

The first thing you need to know is that the perks are doubled since both of you are Elite. That means double the internet minutes and laundry perks. Remember if you send out laundry check when the last day is that you can send it out before the end of the cruise.

Probably the biggest perk is the evening cocktail party, held everynight from 5-7 except embarkation nights and Officers party. Even if you have a drink package it is a good chance to meet people. If your cruise has loads of elites they will load coupons for three drinks each evening on your card. Also, don't forget the morning elite breakfast.

You will receive a letter in your stateroom giving time and place for the events. If you don't get one ask your steward.

Since I do not have a beverage package for my next cruise I am looking forward to the Elite cocktail party benefit. Also planning on trying out the Elite Breakfast benefit for an espresso based drink and an occasional Bloody Mary.

You will enjoy the Captain Club breakfast. It is an expanded continental breakfast but not like the great breakfast buffet in the Oceanview Grill.

Complimentary expresso based drinks, bloody marys, and champagne are very nice ways to start the day.

You'll have information in your cabin about all of your benefits but, as already mentioned, the most important are the cocktail time, 90 minutes per person of free internet and a free bag of laundry for each of you. The breakfast is nice but we often go to breakfast elsewhere then pop into the Elite breakfast for a cappuccino and conversation. Even if you're sailing with a lot of Elites and have coupons or drinks loaded on your card, consider going to wherever the Elite event is being held. It's hard to discuss our cruise obsession with people at home. When we're with other frequent cruisers, it's fun to share our interest with people who understand.

You'll also get a scoop of gelato for each of you. There are some casino coupons. DH always uses those so I can't comment too much on them. There will should also be an afternoon tea and a wine tasting event. You will not get reminders of everything. Put the paperwork you receive on the first day in a safe place and keep checking it for what's happening.

You will get even more perks if you go on more cruises and finally reach the big Z class or why not start booking suites, big ones such as the owners suite, special dining room,M/C,butlers taking care of you, what bliss, haha !

I don't think I've ever "requested" anything as an Elite...maybe the 1 category upgrade at time of booking? The other benefits are published and generous and I've never considered asking for anything more?? What do others ask for? (don't want to miss out!)
