Vista Southern Caribbean Picture Review (Havana Cabana)

I can see that we have the exact same cruising style. At 20 different points in your story, so far, I have found myself thinking "yes, that is exactly what I would have done, too". Everything from your choice of cabin to the excursions you have taken, and the ways you have chosen to spend your time on the ship. Spending lots of time at the Havana pool, and next to none at the main Lido pool. Taking the party bus excursion in Aruba! That was one of the most memorable excursions I've done in all of my cruises. And I completely understood your comment that Carnival's Havana cabins offered a somewhat similar experience to NCL's Haven, at a hugely lower price. I've stayed in The Haven three times, so far, and it was a no-brainer to book a Havana Suite on Carnival Vista to get access to that uncrowded Havana pool area.

Thanks for your review!

Thank you. I live in Tampa, we have been without power since Sunday and it just came back. I have read and re-read your Haven Spa reviews. That is my favorite room

Ok, where was I when Hurricane Irma so rudely interrupted me?

Returning to the ship to find cookies from the casino and getting lunch.

Thanks for your review and all of your pics!!! We are due to take this cruise (eastern itinerary) in a Havana cabin on 10/7. Can't wait to experience everything about this ship and possibly unknown (at this point with storms still brewing in the Atlantic) ports. It's been forever since DH and I have been able to cruise together so I need this cruise to happen! :)

Was Gabriel the bartender at Alchemy? Ugh! He's my least fav Alchemy bartender.

We leave Nov. 4th and have a cove. Havana was sold out but we have Havana booked for Horizon next November.

I'm really looking forward to Vista and all she has to offer. Breeze has been our biggest ship to date with Carnival.

We were on NCL Breakaway to Bermuda. LOVED Bermuda but not a fan of NCL.

Since this is taking so long here are some pictures of Red Frog Pub and the first drinks of the cruise.

Ahhhhh, memories. One of my favorite places onboard. We met some folks on our Vista cruise that we've managed to become real friends with afterwards. And it all started in the RF Pub!

I only saw 2 women bartenders, it was so hard to get a seat, I would have gone more.

I agree, I find it hard to believe that they would replace it on the Horizon, hopefully if they replace it, it will be with a similar venue.

Another complaint I heard about Vista was the service. I hesitate to call it bad service, just staff was spread so thin. I think the ratios will probably spread to the other ships as well. I know at my job we are forced to take on more work, everything must be perfect and salary remains static. I don't see this changing soon.

We went to Bonsai and eventually had a great meal, but it took a while to be served and to get our food.

Teriyaki beef appetizer,

Shrimp tempura sushi

Husband's noodles

Yakitori chicken

Day 8- Sea Day.

Last day-Oh No!

This is it. Even being under the weather I felt like I did most of what I wanted. Missed sports square and I skipped, the thermal suite, as I heard no Thalassotherapy pool, just a whirlpool, but I had the Havana instead.

Sea Day Brunch-

Lemon pound cake

Pork chops
