I'm not a huge drinker... UNLESS I am in a party / vacation atmosphere and then I become a huge drinker an was waffling back and forth on this when I finally realized this vacation is all about freedom and thinking / planning very little . If buying this package means I can point to the menu and go I want that one a few dozen times with absolutely no concern over its cost at the end then it's worth it for me.

I suppose it depends on your perspective but for me the less friction on my vacation the better . I'm 99% sure I'm getting the cheers package on my upcoming cruise.

Wow, 15 drinks a day?!? How many people are actually striving towards that? Could not even imagine drinking that many, even non-alcoholic with all the tons of sugar. Even bottled water, most people don't consume that much in a day. I know, I know.....vacation.

I am getting the 12 packs of water in my room for $4.50. There is NO WAY I could drink 15 drinks a day, weather that be soda, alcohol, milkshake, specialty coffee or whatever. I prefer to eat my calories than drink them. It's just not worth it for us. I will buy a bottle of in-stateroom alcohol for the whole cruise and my boyfriend will get a couple of buckets of beer.

^^^This. I cannot say it enough and it drives me bonkers to see people say that if you don't drink 5-6 alcoholic drinks a day then it is not "worth it." For roughly $55 you get unlimited nonalcoholic beverages to included sodas, specialty coffees, bottled waters, bottled teas, energy drinks, powerades, milk shakes, virgin drinks, etc. AND 15 alcoholic beverages a day. My husband is not a big drinker, he will have two or maybe three mixed drinks in an entire day on a cruise but he will drink a lot of diet sodas, bottled water, the occasional milk shake and powerade and will definitely take a water or powerade off the ship at each port and one to bed each night. The Bubbles package will not give him the variety of drinks he would like but the Cheers package will. I on the other hand, will start the day with a mimosa or bloody mary and have mojito or four by the pool :D and a couple glasses of wine with dinner in addition to the bottles of water I will have between most of those drinks and the bottled water or tea I will take off the ship at each port and to bed with me at night. The package is not just for alcohol!!! Okay, off my soapbox now.

Yes! We are getting Cheers package. It appears to be well worth it.

It isn't about drinking 15 drinks a day, Carnival just set that as a limit for alcoholic beverages on the package.

The prices for the cocktails I drink are several dollars higher than that chart so if you figure in that many drinks will be closer to $14.00 with gratuities then Cheers becomes even more cost effective if everyone in the cabin has similar drinking habits. And I assume those prices were with bottom of the barrel liquors which only give me a headache.

The price listed below are the menu price. Remember they add an automatic 15% gratuity on the total of each bill. If docked at American port or still in US waters, sales tax will also be added to the bill.

- Sodas and juices are a $1.95 each

- Specialty coffee start at $2.95 and can easily go up from there, depending on what you have added. They have standard coffee shop flavors, as well as alcohol, each is price per pump or shot.

- beers start at $5.50 and go up to $6.25 per bottle. Foster oil cans are $7.95. $2 taking off if you order your beers in a bucket for mix and match 4 bottles. If on a ship with the Red Frog PUB beer by the glass is also available and starts at $4.75.

- Order by the glass for wine start at $6.25 for the house label and go up to $18 for some labels , and there is a $28 per glass reserve label available only in the Steakhouse. Full bottles may also be ordered from the restaurants and select bars on the ship.

- For call shots and well drinks the price starts at $6.50, with preferred shelf drinks starting at $9, premiums starting at $11.95, and there are a few super premiums at the casino and speciality restaurants that start at $18 per shot. The most expensive one I know of at $38 per glass is for a bourbon only available in the casino and Steakhouse.

- Icy Inventions and Frozen Favorites are $7.50 each or you can have them as a non alcoholic version for $5.50. Spiked milkshakes and smoothies can also be had for about $7.50 each as well.

- Popular cocktails like Long Island Iced Tea and martinis start at $8.95 and can go up to $9.95. If premium liquor is requested usually the up charge is only $2. Specialized cocktails from the Alchemy Bar can be as much as $15.95.

Alcohol and wine by the bottle may also be ordered to your cabin for in room consumption. If you don't want to stay in your room just pour your drink into your a glass or tumbler and carry around the ship.

If a wine drinker once on board there is the Cruise the Vinyard bottle package that gives significant savings over the by the glass price.
