Crusin' from Fl Posted October 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2017 The last ship I was on, Zuiderdam, did not have doors that I could magnets on. Can anyone tell me if the newer ships, specifically the Nieuw Amsterdam does? I usually put a few magnets on the door so I can find my way home at night, yes, even on HAL. Thank you in advance for any replies.
catl331 Posted October 16, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 16, 2017 I didn't try on the NA, but over the years we've found that a strong magnet will stick to the doors while a weak one (e.g. refrigerator magnet) will not. Even weak ones will stick to the door frame.

Please accept my apologies in advance but I just have to ask ... should we use a Blue Ribbon? ;p :halo: dh
slidergirl Posted October 17, 2017 #10 Share Posted October 17, 2017 If you must put something on the door, try those 3M Command Strips. They now come in many styles and varieties - surely there would be one small one you could attach to your magnet... They remove clean at the end of use. Marianne Posted October 17, 2017 #11 Share Posted October 17, 2017 Go to a Dollar Store and get some stickers. I usually select either flowers or some nautical theme, such as a fish. When you leave the ship for home, take the sticker off the door. I've had folks up and down the hall tell me how easy it was to find their room from my door decorations. Actually I like the idea of a ribbon tied to the mail box too. Kinda clever and easy to see from a distance. Hope this helps.
