Review of MSC Divina Sailing Oct 29th-Nov. 4th 2017

I got up super early this morning like 3:45a.m. and couldn't go back to sleep, so I decided to go out and explore the ship while most everyone else was still asleep. The ship had been transformed for Halloween, so it was fun to walk around and see all the decorations they had put up.

I wanted to chime in concerning the casino . When we sailed on the Divina in July there was a no smoking policy in casino and we saw it enforced several times . The only public smoking area was at the bar on the aft of the ship near the infinity pool .

 

I sincerely hope they will not permit smoking on the Seaside in the casino . If there is smoking in there I will be saving lots of money !

Hello everyone my name is Ken and I travel frequently with my uncle Terry. While this is not my first review, it is my first MSC review. I like to write a long detailed review going day by day with lots of pix. It takes me a long time to finish the whole thing, so I will give the short and sweet of it for those that want a quick synopsis and want to move on. For those, like me, that love lots of details and pix stay tuned. .

 

So the MSC Divina would have gotten a huge thumbs up, but unfortunately they gave me food poisoning. Therefore I've been left no choice but to give then a thumbs down (n)! There is no doubt that the Divina is a beautiful ship! In my experience the customer service on board was excellent for the most part, with a few exceptions. The food was decent in all the venues we ate, with the exception of getting food poisoning of course. What can I say we have been on quite a few cruises now and have never gotten food poisoning so travel on MSC at your own risk. I'm a firm believer in saying, never say never, but it's extremely unlikely we will ever sail with MSC again. We also traveled with a group of 375 and several others have complained of getting sick as well as another member of our roll call. Please feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to provide an answer

There is also a smoking room off the piazza, I believe. There was definitely smoking in half of the casino, and many were smoking up out on the open decks. Now if they were eventually told to stop or not I have no idea, but I did witness one time a fellow passenger complained to a group that were smoking and they shrugged it off and kept right on smoking.

I went back to the cabin and waited for Terry to get up, then we headed to breakfast in the Black Crab.

 

 

Cherry "pastry", but not a pastry. The dough is not pastry dough more like a biscuit dough, but still very delicious.

 

Croque Madame, the breakfast special, very good.

 

Fruit Salad, good but the Fruit Plate is better.

We went back to the cabin after breakfast and just chilled for awhile to let the crowds wanting to go ashore dissipate some. We eventually headed to the Eatly where you get your tender boarding number, then went to the lobby to wait for our number to be called to board the tender. It wasn't very long like maybe 10-15 minutes, and we got on the tender to go to George Town, Cayman Islands.

I've sailed on the Carnival Splendor.

 

Despite it being overcast it was hot and humid. We never did go to the right of where you get off/on the tenders. It was lunch time by now and we were hot and tired so we headed back to the ship for lunch in the buffet.
