Ship Excursion land tour with beach time? Getting back to ship instead of beach?

If we did a land tour that includes a beach stop at the end but decided not to stay at the beach for whatever reason (weather, too crowded ect..) would they take us back to the ship if some of us wanted or would we have to get our own ride back to the ship?

Perhaps, if everyone on the excursion wanted to go back to the ship they would accommodate you. Otherwise,

you would need to make your own way back to the ship if on a ships excursion.

If you do decide to go back on your own, make sure to advise the tour guide and or bus driver of your decision so that your tour mates aren't stuck on the bus waiting for you. That's happened many times since people forget to tell tour guides they've decided to return early.

You will have to get back to the ship on your own....it's not a "ferry" service! But sure, you can leave when you want...no one is stopping you. It may be easier to just do the thing you want on your own, without an excursion. In the Caribbean, it's VERY easy to have a DIY day. A guidebook is very useful..tells you about ALL points of interest, shopping, restaurants, beaches, transportation and safety.
