We booked our Seaside cruise as a 15 day voyage (not a back to back), but I was wondering if we are going to get off the ship when it goes back to Miami after the first week before it sets sail again?

Anyone know how this works?

Yes, they have to account for every passenger so you will have to clear Customs & Immigration. They normally have you meet in one location then they may clear you on the ship based upon how many passengers are B2B. Then when you reboard you may enter a different door than those coming onboard for this cruise.

We have done it many times and it never seems to be the same procedure. The biggest problem is if all B2B passengers don't show up on time you may have to sit and wait for them to show up before you all can clear. MSC will provide you with a letter informing you at least the night before on what and how. Hope this helps you.

You also have to wait until all of the disembarking passengers have disembarked which can add on time if someone hasn't got off. For us the actual clearing of immigration took about 15 minutes but the whole process took about an hour and a half as we were waiting on passengers to disembark. If you are going on an excursion or going off the ship there is a slightly different process. I think you just clear immigration on your return.

We did a B2B on Divina last summer. Halfway through the first cruise, MSC was informed that there would be a surprise inspection of the ship upon arrival back in Miami. (Apparently, this happens a few times a year). Because of the inspection, all B2B passengers had to leave the ship, exit the terminal, and re-enter like new arriving passengers. We did not have to take our stuff, and they did give us a photocopied sheet of paper that identified us as B2B passengers. We just flashed these at immigration and were waved right through. We exited the terminal and walked right over to the entrance to get back in. At first, they tried to tell us we were too early, but since we were sailing B2B in Yacht Club, they let us in. We were sent back to the Yacht Club waiting room and enjoyed champagne and cookies while we waited for the first round of boarding. We did not get to board the ship ahead of the other passengers. Once back on board, we did in fact see the inspection going on. All bars, restaurants, pools, etc. were closed until they received their individual inspection. This was totally out of MSC hands, but there were frustrated passengers because this was only a 3 day cruise, so they didn't want to miss one minute of the their time on board.

Thanks so much for the info!
