Just booked our first MSC cruise on MSC Seaside for November. In conversation with someone, they said that MSC does NOT prohibit smoking in most areas. That people can smoke everywhere on the ship. Is this true? Particularly true of Seaside?

MSc is the most smoke friendly cruise line I’ve ever sailed. They do not promote smoking anywhere but don’t seem to really do anything about it either. This could be a cultural thing as many more European people smoke than North America. In both yacht club and an aft balcony I had smokers next to me.

They smoked on the balcony even though it was “prohibited”. Also, on the divina, the whole port side of the pool was smoking- a huge area.

I was on an MSC cruise in Europe and saw very little smoking and never smelled anything from the balcony and I was worried about it before we went. Part of the casino allowed smoking but there was much less smoke than on my last Carnival cruise. Never saw anyone smoking on the pool deck where it was not allowed.
