LD Silver Posted January 17, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2018 I have visited Bananarama 3 times. The first two times were fantastic.....great service, sandy beach, peaceful atmosphere. However, my last visit in late 2014 was much different. Same great service and sandy beach but not peaceful. This was due to aggresive beach vendors that did not leave you alone. I must have told the same vendors "no thank you" 10 times. It was non stop badgering. It really ruined the experience. Was wondering if any recent Bananarama guests could comment if the vendor situation has improved. Thanks!

mindy2 Posted January 29, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 29, 2018 As a yearly visitor to Roatan I can say that the beach vendors are definitely still there. There is not much difference between Roatan and most other third world economies that are frequented by cruise ship passengers. We spend at least two weeks on West Bay Beach and have never had an issue with a polite no thank you. Please remember these people are just trying to make a living. JT1962 Posted January 30, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 30, 2018 I start with a firm No Thank you. If the same person keeps on, I follow up with a Get the H*** Away From Me. That usually takes care of it. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

BillRobin1971 Posted February 8, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 8, 2018 If you go to Bananarama, just stay behind the posts and you won’t have too much of an issue. “No thank you” and “no thank you” after the secondary “maybe later?” usually does it. We were last there in September.
wolfganghowell Posted February 13, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 13, 2018 We were there in November. They are not allowed to cross a certain point. The secret is not to get a lounger on the front row. We were on the back row - still a great location and view but they couldn't really get near us. Security watches and they know they can't cross the line.
