Looking for private guide

Long walk, technically doable I guess.

The entire island is 7 miles end to end so theoretically everything is walkable. There's just not that much to see land wise on the island and not really much in the way of history (as noted the museum is interesting). I don't recall even seeing many taxis at the port offering the usual guiding services although there must have been some.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Our interest is history and learning about the culture.

I am looking for either a taxi service or company for private tours.

Thanks.

The taxi drivers at the port are well versed on island history and very proud of their island. Just get off the ship and walk to the parking lot and ask one. If you're not comfortable with person or attitude, ask another. Golf carts are over rated. Since the hurricanes, many people have had issues and you need to know where you're going or looking for.

I would rent a golf cart and go out on your own. The island is small and you can go anywhere on the island on a golf cart except the airport and port area. There is a small museum in Cockburn Town you can visit.

If you DO rent one, be sure to get a map of the island beforehand. The island IS small, but the roads are usually not marked, so a map would be good to have.
