Alas, most customer service reps have never been on a cruise so can only be expected to be right a portion of the time - which is why so many people come here with questions.

Really, I can't speak for most reps, only the ones I have talked to and several have cruised. As employees they get deeply discounted cabins when they are open.

I asked about the golden room beside boleros and the casino showing on the deck plan for Mariner.

I have been told it's A/ a diamond lounge (in addition to the other one at the top)

B/ a suite only lounge

C/ a VIP casino lounge

Which of these is correct?

If you are sailing after May 22, everything will change with the dry dock.

Hard to say what they will do with those venues. Once they stop doing the China cruises, they won't have need for all the gambling/retail venues.

I know that on the way over to Asia ("Global Odyssey"), they were working on destruction and construction during the cruise.

I don't know what that means for the people on the Singapore to Barcelona cruise.

I'm thinking that with the dry dock coming so soon, they would probably not take on a major project with guests onboard. Of course, it is Royal, so who knows.

I'm sure it'll be fine, and it's not that important, I was just curious why they added a second diamond lounge, or a suite lounge (concierge lounge without a concierge...)!
