Cellphone onboard around Hawaii?

Does anyone know...? We have Verizon and wonder if they sail close enough to the islands to pick up Verizon cell phone service, or does it default to Cellular At Sea?

Sometimes you will be close enough, and sometimes you will not.

 

Better, if you NEED cell phone coverage, to turn on Wifi calling and pay for internet access.

 

If very limited usage, Cellular at Sea may be cheaper.

Ok, thanks. We were actually thinking of picking up wifi service. No problem, will just purchase internet service on board.

When your in port the Cellular at Sea is turned off. They turn it it on and off when about 5 miles from the port.
