eshej Posted April 3, 2018 #26 Share Posted April 3, 2018 No, only your stateroom attendant and helpers, and the dining staff for the "free" venues. Thanks!
SG65CB Posted April 3, 2018 #27 Share Posted April 3, 2018 Not true. You can also order from the Room Service Menu as well as MDR if in Full Suite. Sent from my iPhone using Forums I think they meant that if you are not in a full suite you cannot order from the MDR menu.
Milwaukee Eight Posted April 3, 2018 #28 Share Posted April 3, 2018 I think they meant that if you are not in a full suite you cannot order from the MDR menu. Got it. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Forums
39august Posted April 5, 2018 #29 Share Posted April 5, 2018 Yes, that is what I meant. Someone earlier had said there was no fee if you ordered off the MDR menu. Just wanted to clarify that only full suites could do this.
SRF Posted April 7, 2018 #30 Share Posted April 7, 2018 This +1 You know, we have never used room service...... might give it a try next week... We used it one morning on a sea day for breakfast on the balcony. Nice.
SRF Posted April 7, 2018 #31 Share Posted April 7, 2018 Why not free? #1 the staff that deliver are volunteers, working outside their usual working hours, and get Stiffed. #2 the number of orders that when they are delivered, no one answers..either left the cabin or could well be passed out.....waste. Not just another money grab, there are reasons behind the action. And people here on CC admitted to making room service orders for a cookie at night. So a lot of small orders, so people think now before ordering.
GGGrandma32 Posted April 7, 2018 #32 Share Posted April 7, 2018 I think it's to high considering how they are nickel and diming us. I can also understand how things can get out of control with people/kids abusing it. It would be nice if it was free maybe once a day or the equivalent of every other day. A 10 day cruise would give you 5 free room delivery services. This should include anything from the menu and can be used on any day of the cruise. :D RCCL will sometimes forego the room service fee for those who are limited to their cabin more often for meals. I agree I prefer it be free for all, all the time. I did not realize that people ordering and not being there, or a large amount of waste was an issue. But at least they show some flexibility for those who cannot get out to meals regularly. But this is an issue that must be addressed before cruise. It may only be because many had cruises planned before the change took place. I personally believe for those who truly need the room service, and cannot make it out to many meals, and are not using majority of other services on the ship, it should be an option. _linda_ Posted April 7, 2018 #33 Share Posted April 7, 2018 Tried it once. It arrived over an hour late due to high demand, was cold and soggy. Decided it’s better to go fetch ourselves, as we are able. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
