FLOURTOWN Posted April 23, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted April 23, 2018 No. That is a crew only area. Sent from my iPhone using Forums We’ve been on the helo pad on Celebrity so that’s why I asked with the Haven.
MizDemeanor Posted April 23, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 23, 2018 We had a forward penthouse on 4/8. Did not see any activity at all on the big smiley face helipad. In fact after the change to Belize City following the Roatan port isssue due to MSC bumping into rock, there was $79.00 'excursion' for interior ship highlights for Galley, Behind the Scens at Theatre, etc. I was like, whaaaat? Rare BirdTravels Posted April 23, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 23, 2018 The helo pad on the big ships is a crew area. There is a crew bar/lounge directly under the pad. Not exactly sure what the comment on the Behind the Scenes tour was referencing,,, it is a normal tour offered by ShoreEx on most ships. Cruise Next offers a similar, but shorter tour for free to Platinum and above guests.
FLOURTOWN Posted April 23, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted April 23, 2018 I agree that you can't walk around the front normally, but the Captain invited us when we sailed away from a port. It was really exciting to be so close up front.
don't-use-real-name Posted April 23, 2018 #7 Share Posted April 23, 2018 Not a Haven answer - Some of the ships transiting the Panama Canal and cruising the glaciers in Alaska have the bow deck open - but normally that area is reserved for crew recreation. Correct. This would be the only time this is acceptable. Panama Canal being a big one where the bow is used by passengers.
