applequeen Posted June 5, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 5, 2018 I know my phone will work once I get to Key West (I believe we dock sometime in the afternoon) but I am wondering what the chances are I would have service earlier in that day (around 9:00 AM). I have a work call I would like to join in at all possible. I don’t normally work during vacation and it’s totally fine for me to miss this meeting. It’s more of a want to participate sort of thing. It’s a gotomeeting so maybe I could also use internet on the ship (but would rather not pay for it). I just wondered what the chances are we will be close enough to shore that morning for my phone to work. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
BNBR Posted June 6, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 6, 2018 Chances are very low you would have service. It doesn't carry that far off shore, especially not well enough to have a reliable connection.
Langoustine Posted June 6, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 6, 2018 If you are at sea, my guess is that you will have service through the ships tower, which is very expensive per minute.
applequeen Posted June 6, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted June 6, 2018 Thanks! I definitely won't be using the ship's service. I don't want to join this call badly enough to pay for it!
cb at sea Posted June 15, 2018 #5 Share Posted June 15, 2018 If you DO decide to take the call, it's a business expense...your company should reimburse you for the cost. If you are the owner, it's tax-deductible (or used to be!....who knows now!).
