LondonTowner Posted June 29, 2018 #51 Share Posted June 29, 2018 Not really included, more likely just not something that is ever considered important. Take a break from worrying about tips at every turn, while you are in the UK. Leave those thoughts at home. Sent from my SM-G935F using Forums mobile app Agreed. And at the end of the day you probably are never going to see those people again. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Ashland Posted June 29, 2018 #52 Share Posted June 29, 2018 The driver will think his birthdays have all come at once. There isn't really any need to tip, but if he has been helpful, then £5 for each trip is enough. Sent from my iPad using Forums Thank you so much...very helpful of you....but I guess I won't offer you a tip :D:')
GrJ Berkshire Posted June 30, 2018 #53 Share Posted June 30, 2018 Agree with London Towner, whilst in the UK enjoy your holiday and let tipping thoughts have a holiday back in the US as well. You really do not have to give it any thought, in the UK, unless it's above and beyond what you have paid for tipping is superfluous. Enjoy Britain prices you pay are what's on them no add ins for tax, tips etc.
John Bull Posted July 2, 2018 #54 Share Posted July 2, 2018 For Southampton to Heathrow or Gatwick (around £80 to £120 and 90 minutes to 2 hrs) we tip £5 (always had good service / good drivers). An American might be more comfortable tipping £10, assuming the same service and a friendly face.. JB :) Is this tip estimate total for two people Or pp? Just the one fiver for both of us. But we have English accents ;) JB :)
