Your favorite embarkation port that NCL uses

New Orleans. We get free rooms before and after and free parking at Harrah's because of our VIP status with them. We can easily walk from the hotel to the port. I enjoy the trip down the Mississippi, too, when it doesn't get dark too early.

And of course there is the French Quarter.

I absolutely agree! I don't get free parking (I'm from the Left Coast and it is way too far to drive) but the idea of just walking to the port in the morning after having spent a couple days in the delightful city of New Orleans is very appealing. WW II Museum, plantation tours, food, the Mississippi, and walking around the city are great.

I notice that no one has mentioned my "nearby" port of Los Angeles/San Pedro. And neither will I. ;)

Since we have to travel several hours no matter what, overall,we love Miami. It's relatively inexpensive to fly SW to FLL from HOU. Plenty of hotels to choose from in FLL to MIA. NCL has plenty of itineraries from which to choose... East, South, or West Caribbean, during the months we choose to cruise.

If we want a Western Caribbean cruise, NOLA is our next logical choice, since it's an easy enough drive and some wonderful places to visit along the way.
