knippsel Posted July 20, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2018 We're arriving on the Zuiderdam and flying out of Newark in the afternoon. Planning to book Dial7 or Carmel for the transfer. Not familiar with the Manhattan Terminal, so would appreciate any info on where the car services meet passengers and how they connect. Likely will not have cell phone data or service right when we disembark, and think it might be a real zoo... Suggestions/experience anyone? Also, I've used Carmel in the past with mixed results, but it was a few years ago. Of the two, any input on reliability? Thanks. Kathy
Rare Got2Cruise Posted July 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2018 I think you need your cell phone to have communication between yourself and the driver. Is there a reason why you won’t have one? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
njhorseman Posted July 21, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 21, 2018 Often, or perhaps to be more accurate, usually, the car services aren't allowed into the cruise terminal for pick ups and passengers are directed to cross 12th Ave. to meet their cars there, near the taxi stand, or on a side street such as 48th St. As was already noted you really need a cell phone to call the car service dispatcher to tell them that you're ready to be picked up and to arrange an exact pick up point.
