Ethernet Connection for VOOM - in cabins

Does anybody know if it's likely that you can find wireless access points to plug into with an ethernet cord in the cabins? Of course we'd have the voom package but just want to know if there is a way to get a steady and strong connection.

No, the only way the ship offers access to VOOM is via wireless.

Some ships have Ethernet ports in the cabins, by the desk. No idea if they work. I've never tried. Presumably, they would have Internet access, if they are indeed live, and your Voom access code would work the same as it does at the the onboard Internet cafes. But like I said, I've never tried using those ports. Surely someone has, though.

I believe those ports are dead. They are on older ships were used before wireless was available.

Thought they might have been, just never had the opportunity to try them.

Certainly do. But the jacks in question are RJ45, not RJ11. [emoji6]

It would take some know how but I bet you could setup a bridge. Even if it's a laptop with both ethernet and wifi. Connect to wifi and create a bridge between your wifi adapter and your ethernet adapter.
