Check50 Posted August 14, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2018 Just paid off my cruise this October on the Paradise. I've been to Cozumel several years ago and never been to Grand Cayman. I will be traveling with a 5 and 9 year old and trying to cut down on some of the expenses. Does anyone know if there are free beaches close to the port or can recommend a relatively inexpensive excursion. A&Jfamily Posted August 14, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 14, 2018 7 mile beach is a close cab ride in GC. In Cozumel, we go to Money Bar but they don't have a sandy beach - it is a rock wall and designed for snorkeling. It would be very easy to get a cab in Coz to a beach. JimnKaren Posted August 14, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 14, 2018 You might try looking at a map (available online) of Georgetown to get a sense of what is where. Jim
cb at sea Posted August 14, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 14, 2018 Take the bus instead...$2.50 pp...rental loungers/umbrellas are up and down the beach! The Calico Jacks area has food/drink, restrooms, too. When you're done, walk the few steps to the road, and hop on the next bus!

mslhb Posted August 14, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 14, 2018 We were just in Grand Cayman and agree that the public bus was a cheap, easy and fun experience. We took it to the Turtle Farm and then from their to Calico Jacks which has a wonderful beach and great place to hang out.
