Cape Liberty Parking Question

We're booked on a one-way cruise from Cape Liberty to Quebec.

After the cruise, we're flying from Quebec back to Philadelphia, where we live.

Our original plan was to have a family member drive us to Cape Liberty, but said family member just cancelled on us. We sail on Friday. So a couple questions:

We were thinking of just driving up on Friday and parking, but after the cruise, can we get our car from the Cape Liberty port parking garage, even when their isn't a ship in port? (i.e. we get home the following Monday and we drive up on Tuesday to retrieve our car? Is there a better offsite parking lot that would be easier to park at in this scenario? Any other recommendations? We haven't had luck with shuttle services to EWR/JFK (these also service the ports), but I'm open to other recommendations.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Do you have access to Amtrak or Septa? Where are you coming from exactly? Could you come up by train the night before and stay in a hotel?

It's a 10 day cruise, so parking is $200. Add in gas and Turnpike tolls for 2 cars making a round trip.

Trains were an option as well, but that would require an extra night because we don't wan't to take our chances with a train delay. An extra night isn't ideal, because we're already tight on time, but it might be a possibility.

We're north of Philly in Bucks County, so we could skip Septa and get a ride to Trenton or Hamilton for access to Amtrak or NJ Transit, which both head up towards Newark.

Would we get off at the Newark station?

Yes but Amtrak stops in Trenton only. You can get NJT from either.Trenton or Hamilton (I'm 10 minutes from either...)

Thanks. I’m familiar with the stops down here, just not sure the best option once in North Jersey.

If you're not staying overnight in a hotel, take Amtrak or NJT to Newark Penn Station, not Newark Liberty International Airport. You can get a taxi or Uber from Newark Penn Station to Cape Liberty.

If you're coming in the night before and staying at a hotel the answer would depend on the particular hotel. For most you would take the train to Newark Liberty International Airport, then take the AirTrain to the P4 station where hotel shuttles pick up and drop off passengers. For some hotels, such as the Newark Penn Station Hilton, you should take the train to Newark Penn Station. The Newark Penn Hilton is directly connected to the train station via a skywalk. A few other Newark hotels can also pick you up at Newark Penn Station.

For Sep 6 the Ramada Plaza at EWR is $79 plus tax on lastminutetravel.com. This hotel is used by many Cape Liberty cruisers for park/sleep/cruise. It is one of the closest hotels to the port with direct access to the Turnpike extension at exit 14 to go to exit 14A. You would get off at the Newark Airport Station for this hotel as mentioned by njhorseman.
