Group cruise rate questions

I have a deal with a Travel Agency to book through them and receive part of the commission back. I just booked a Holland America cruise and was told that there was a group cruise for the Travel Agency. The group rate is less than booking it at the advertized room rate.

1. If the cruise rate drops, before final payment, can I get the reduced rate?

2 Does the group rate drop when the advertized rate drops?

3. Are there any pitfalls to doing this that I should know about?

4. Are there any perks that go to the passengers in the group?

A number of TA's will set up groups to obtain better pricing for their clients.

there is no pitfall that I have encountered but I would suggest that you talk to your TA to get the straight scoop.

There an be perks at times (beverage card, PG dinner, etc.). It really depends - which is why you need to talk to your TA. They should have laid out any perks that are there to you.

It's also best to make sure that this is not a non refundable fare and that if you see a price drop you will be able to secure it. Again, you need to ask your TA.

I've never seen any cruise booking where the rate dropped automatically. But, by all means, ask your TA.

Would these questions not be better directed to the Travel Agent, who would know the answers, rather than asking here where you will only get guesses and peoples personal opinion?
