Hello everyone, on BOS now having a lovely cruise. In the spirit of sharing interesting observations that we all enjoy here on CC:

 

There are contractors on board who are installing Closed Circuit TV cameras on each deck. They are installing them at both ends of the elevator area, over the desks of many guest service, shore excursion, future cruise, etc. areas.

 

I also am seeing them in the foyers at the landing at each level of the stairs.

 

When they are installed they are affixing a cute little sign on the walls that advise "smile! you are on camera".

 

Suspect it is for our safety, crowd management , security and to protect the artwork distributed around the ship.

To my knowledge, the ships have had cameras all over the ship for years. Most likely they are just adding to the coverage.

We were told they were installing WiFi routers all over the ship. They were working on our hallway on deck 7. They are small square (about 7”) white - covered devices installed on the ceiling.

They have been working on the Wi-Fi since we left Amsterdam on9/1.

Agree with others, nothing new. Been on ships inc this one for years. A good thing...
