Why is it your favorite, how easy is it to get there? Share pics if you don’t mind

Grote Knip is one of my favorites. Living here, we drive.

The West Punt area beaches are amazing. The best way to see several on a port stop is to book a tour that goes to the West side. Taxis are super expensive.

That’s what I wanted to see!! Are there restaurants and bathrooms here?
We were there 2 days ago with our friends who were here on a cruise port stop.

$1 Us dollar fee for the bathroom and the snack bar was open. We didn't buy anything but they had burgers and such. No guarantee on the snack bar being open every day.

They did have chairs and umbrellas for rent as well. We had 2 chairs and an umbrella , our friends paid, either $15 or $20 USA dollars I think.

Two suggestions if you aren't renting a car.

Irie Tours West side tour will go to several West side beaches.

Back2Nature private jeep tours will customize a tour for you. If you contact Back2Nature, tell them Bridget M sent you, I love their tours!

Bridget...what do you think about Playa Kenapa? Also, do you have a guestimate on what taxi fare would be from the port? Thanks

Playa Kenepa Grandi aka Grote Knip is the same beach as the picture.

It's expensive via taxi.

Here are the taxi rates from the port.tapatalk_1536021339250.jpeg.07558d9b091a1f5e82adbde0579fc793.jpeg

Thanks for the clarification. I spotted Playa Kenepa Grandi on the internet, but there was no mention it goes by another name. Guess I'll save that beach if I'm ever lucky enough to take a land (versus cruise) vacation here. What's your pick for beaches near the port?

Many places have 2 names here.

I would have to say Blue Bay or a day pass at the Hilton would be the best.

Both are full service places and decent snorkeling at both in our experience.

Hi bup1224,

As the resident Curacao expert :classic_biggrin: do you happen to know if the Blue Bay Spa is right within the resort, or near the beach?

The wife is starting to hint at a "oceanside spa massage"...........

I f we want to go to Blue Bay Beach..do we go through resort or is there an entrance somewhere else???

If you are driving yourself, yes just through the entrance to the resort and the guard will give you a pass - tell them you are going to the beach and they should give you directions - easy - drive in, go straight for maybe 5 minutes or so and look for the sign for the beach on the right.

we will probably be taking a taxi?? so should we have the taxi driver drop us somewhere else or go through the resort entrance???
