Live now.

Half a$$ed weather report. Calm seas and hot.

Things are looking better.  Not really gonna help the bags under my eyes though.

How’s the “Trap House” this morning?  It’s no aft deck 12 neighbourhood, with housekeeping carts on blocks, but this corner rough. 😉

I almost got caught writing the note today. I heard a door opening and it turned out to be their immediate neighbor. Dodged a bullet with that one.  Not sure what they do if they caught me, send in a Genie to take me out and do their dirty work. 🤔

That’s it for tonight. I will try to catch you up tomorrow regarding the rest of Jost tour, my noon officers lunch, flow riding, rider’s kankles and anything you see fit.

Night all.

Still curious about the GoPro tale.  Maybe it will turn up years from now with some turtles.

Now time for the flowrider report.

I am down for at least the morning. I haven’t ridden in the last two days as my kankles were in full bloom. Between the jarring on the wave, standing in line, snd salty food my feet have taken some abuse.

However, in a positive that gives me some time catch up here.

🤔

Live now. Equal amount of Boston and LA fans watching.

You can hear the Boston fans talking, that after the win they are headed to the pub for a rippah and a wicket pissa

Thanks to Maureencruiser I speak some Boston.

I think you must have heard wrong.  LOL.  Wicked Pissa, an adverb/adjective.  The game was wicked pissa.   Never heard anyone say "a rippah" either.  But then I've been out of town for a few years living in the suburbs.

Here are the details on our Jost Van Dyke private excursion.  Many years ago a fellow CC reviewer did a private boat excursion in St Thomas and spoke highly of the company used. I took that name and saved the link for the day that we could eventually use them. Their name is One Love Charters.

I reached out to them in April and after a couple emails back and forth, and a phone call to finalize details, we had our day planned. We decided to go to Jost as I have seen it and the surrounding areas featured on many Kenny Chesney videos. Just felt like the place to go, off the beaten track.

We were to meet One Love at their marina and they provided us the name of a van service.  It was about a 30 minute trip one way and they would take us back for $58.  A week prior One Love contacted us to confirm the details. The day before we arrived in St Thomas they emailed us to regretfully inform us that they we waiting on a boat part from the mainland and unfortunately it had yet to arrive.

They do however have a partner boat that they work with a few slips away.  Their name is CrewZenV1, and Kevin is the owner and Captain. The pricing etc would all be the exact same. Our response was, no worries and we will see you next time we are in St Thomas. One Love was very professional from with us the entire time.  Stuff breaks on the farm, and parts take time.  I emailed with Kevin and all was good.

Our van driver for the day met us at the windmill at Crown Bay right on time.  10:15 we were in the van and on the move.  30 minutes later we were at the Marina and Kevin met us at the gate.  After a quick washroom break and safety presentation we were heading out the channel.

Now for my GoPro.  I suction cupped it to a good surface with a strong grip, or so I thought.  Once we got out into the open water and the RPMs were pegged higher we were heading into the swells.  It would be a 30 minute ride at what seemed to be 50 MPH.  We hit a couple good bumps at plane and I looked at the GoPro and it was gone.

Bye, Bye.  Someone will find it, with its orange floatie one day.  Maybe like Aquahounds story, one day maybe it will find its way back home to me.  Thankfully it was a Hero 3 Black and has been around for a long time. I guess I know what I’m getting for Christmas or my birthday. Lisa, if you are reading along, nothing says love like a drone. 😉

Our first stop was clearing Customs.  $65 a person.  While Kevin was completing the paper work we were to hang out on the pier. Customs is at the end of the pier.

The jail is also the customs office. I think you could just walk out the front door if you were locked up for the night.  You might not see it in the photo, but part of the roof was missing after Irma.

What a spot to wait.

After we cleared customs we headed to the world Famous Foxy’s Bar for drink.  The road was the beach. It’s like going back in time.

Welcome to White Bay.

There is no pier so Kevin threw a forward and aft anchor, and we swam ashore. Would have been fun to have done that with my GoPro but alas... I had to hold my iPhone above my head.

What a view from the Soggy Dollar Bar.  We had a few drinks and ate lunch there. Both were amazing. Kevin joined us and we got to learn about how he ended in the Islands. We stayed for maybe an hour, but we weren’t really watching the clock.

From White Bay we blasted to Sandy Spit. It is literally a small island, basically a sand bar. There used to be a few tall palms until Irma hit.  A couple of coconuts have washed ashore and self-seeded themselves and are no w starting to grow.

ROFL!!!  We are an opinionated bunch.  Not as bad an NY perhaps.  😄   I did find it hilarious that someone might have a wicked pissa.   I'm thinking I should invent a drink called that.

To the OP, loving this thread.  Going on Harmony in January.  Thank you!

Either that or a Trivia Team name. Enjoy Harmony, she’s a great ship.

thanks for all the details on your Jost Van Dyke trip.  It all looked so beautiful.

Can you tell me if there was another place to watch the World Series game?  Thanks.

You are welcome. I have a few more details to finish up this afternoon regarding Jost.

The game was also being being show last night in the pub but it was hot and crowded. It actually seemed cooler at the Aqua Theatre.

Since the spa doesn’t have a treatment for fat ankles, I’m busy soaking my feet in the tub. The water is only lukewarm, cold would be much better.  But it’s better than putting my feet in the toilet, which I know should be coldwater - that’s just nasty. (read in a Cleveland Brown voice)

Since you don’t want to see a photo of that, let me provide you a picture of what’s going on outside.
