diesel1973 Posted November 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2018 Am planning a 15 day land tour of Thailand and confused about visa requirements (US citizen). Will I be required to obtain visa on entry with 2000 BHT fee or will I not need anything? Thanks in advance.
diesel1973 Posted November 12, 2018 Author #2 Share Posted November 12, 2018 Thanks everyone for your prompt response. I was able to get answer to my question from the Thailand Embassy in Chicago. Happy travels!
diane.in.ny Posted November 22, 2018 #3 Share Posted November 22, 2018 I am assuming you found out that, as a US citizen, you don't need a visa for Thailand?
iancal Posted November 22, 2018 #4 Share Posted November 22, 2018 (edited) Thailand is in the process of changing visa requirements, visa attributes, and visa costs. Apparently tourism is slower than their target growth rate of 12 percent. The changes will apparently soon be rubber stamped by Cabinet and put in to place immediately. I think for some nationalities, they will eliminate the VIA charge of 2000 bhat. Fortunately we currently only need a visa if we plan to stay more than 30 days.
