Are some of the venues cold such that you might want a sweatshirt even when sailing in the caribbean?

Does a windy night affect Laser Tag or Go Karts?  I want to say I came across a reference and wondered if it would be better NOT to book either for the first night sailing out of Miami.

Is there a clock in the room?

None of the coffee drinks at specialty restaurants with alcohol are covered with the UBP, right?

Does the Local have same darts/pool/bowling setup as Escape?

Is the snow room in spa area and just for thermal pass users?  Never made it to NCL cold room things even though I'm pretty sure I've sailed on ships with them, seem to forget they exist.

Thanks.

We never find the ship cold. But, in the caribbean, the AC will be running full blast and you may get chilled if you pick a seat directly under a vent. We don't carry anything extra.

Weather will affect the go karts. First night out of Miami should not be a problem.

Only the telephone which you can program as an alarm clock.

Anything bar drinks with regular coffee are free. The espresso-based drinks cost extra.

Just for thermal suite guests.

Thanks.

Enjoy the Bliss!

Thanks for the info!

I thought of another one.

On the 7 night Bliss Eastern sailing (relatively new), is there any special rotation in the buffet for dinner such that one night might be better than another night to chose buffet instead of sit down dinner?

Hi SAmome!

We were aboard the Nov 24 - Dec 1, 2018 Bliss Eastern Carib sailing, only her second 7 Day sailing from Miami.  You can read about our trip here, which I'm constantly updating:

I'm looking at our Freestyle Dailies now, and although we only ate at the Garden Cafe Buffet for a few breakfasts and occasional snacks, I looked up the Dinner Buffet offerings for you!

Day 1, Embarkation Day - Miami : Prime Rib

Day 2, Sea Day: Seafood Buffet

Day 3, Sea Day: Mixed Grill Extravaganza featuring Whole Roasted Pork Leg, Chili Relleno Casserole and Shrimp Tostones

Day 4, St. Thomas, USVI: Country-Western featuring Tex-Mex Roasted Chicken, BBQ Braised Short Ribs, and Rosemary Roasted Lamb

Day 5, Tortola, BVI: No themed dinner, but offerings include Honey Roasted Ham, BBQ Beef, Potato Skins and Pork Cutlets, Chicken, Eggplant PIe

Day 6, Sea Day: Family Dinner with Whole Roasted Turkey, Peppercorn Bernaise Sirloin Steaks, Pulled Pork Tostones, and Taco Station

Day 7, Nassau, Bahamas: No themed dinner, but offerings include Carved Roasted Striploin Station, Latin-Style Roasted Striploin with Chimichuri, Beef Florentine, Beef Empanadas, Salsa Piquante, and Lamb Stew

Here's the same list, for The Local:

Day 1: Prime Rib

Day 2: Spare Ribs

Day 3: Prime Rib

Day 4: Shrimp Po Boys

Day 5: Mixed Grill

Day 6: Spare Ribs

Day 7: Veal Schnitzel and Fried Egg

I hope this helps you in your planning!

How did you like the Local's menu?  We usually eat several lunches in O'Sheehan's so wondering how the different menu at Local will be.

Not sure whom you are asking and the inimitable BirdTravels will probably answer, but as for me, I didn't find The Local menu to be any different from O'Sheehan's on The Epic. Only the decor was different.  We enjoyed two wonderful breakfasts here and one lunch, where we both had chili dogs.  LOVE The Local.  Love the concept.  Love that it's open all night and all day.

We love the Chicago Dogs at O'Sheehans, so the chili dogs sound good too!

I thought I saw somewhere that the Local had some different options for sandwiches and desserts.  Just can't find that menu picture so was wondering if someone had tried them.

We did the November Panama Canal cruise and ate in the Local and the specialty dining.  I had prime rib in CAGNEY’S and have to say the prime rib which we had twice in the Local was far better.  We did the local for breakfast a few times until we found the Observation Lounge.  We usually skipped lunch but if we had lunch we always went to the Local.

It is similar, but not the same as O'Shehan's. Good food for a quick bite.

The menu and what we had for lunch one day can be found on post 210 and 211

I’ve had the Rachael sandwich(Reuben like with turkey) and feta watermelon salad. Both were excellent

These sound so good!  Just saw on menu below that the Rachael has apple cole slaw.  Will be ordering both of these in a couple of months 🙂

Thanks BirdTravels!

I want to try so many of these.  Baked Ziti and Tortilla bowl sound like a good lunch or late night snack.   Even the grilled cheese with tomato sounds perfect!

And usually we don't order dessert at O'Sheehans, but we definitely need to try that carrot cake

One thing about the Bliss,,,, the lifeboats are stowed inboard (they don't hang out over the side like the Getaway, Breakaway, and Escape (which allows the ship to fit through the panama canal)). Everything on Deck 7 is squished by the width to 2 life boats (one on each side) which makes The Local, Casino and even the Manhattan Room narrower.
