MrmrsSteelman Posted December 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 18, 2018 We just booked this hotel for the night before we leave on our cruise. Looks really nice, anyone stay there before?

Flymia Posted December 18, 2018 #3 Share Posted December 18, 2018 (edited) It is in North Bay Village, so it is a central geographic location on Biscayne Bay (not the ocean). Good if you have a rental car. If you want to walk to places, not a good spot. Trip Advisor has decent reviews, it is a motel type hotel, a bit older of a building. BlueHerons Posted December 18, 2018 #4 Share Posted December 18, 2018 Flymia, isn't that the one where the deck fell in? OP it always looks like a fun time!
fishywood Posted December 18, 2018 #5 Share Posted December 18, 2018 Yes this is where the deck of Shuckers Seafood Bar & Grill collapsed into the bay. I remember staying there nearly 30 years ago when our house on Miami Beach was being tented. Was a Holiday Inn at the time--a very spartan roadside motel that just happens to have a nice view of Biscayne Bay. And now the property is that many years older... If you want to head to the beach it is a 0.6 mile walk over the bridge to the nearest stop for the free City of Miami Beach trolley. Beyond Shuckers there are a couple local bars and restaurants and small markets close by, but nothing for "nice" other than possibly Benihana. Langoustine Posted December 20, 2018 #6 Share Posted December 20, 2018 I've never stayed there, but I went to Shuckers many times before the collapse. It looked like a great place if you had a car, not so great if you didn't.
