On Ship Currency in Western Med

I cruising on the Epic in late August out of Barcelona. what currency is used on the ship in regards to the casino. If you wanted to give an extra tip to your steward or bartender, do they prefer Euros, US$ or does it matter.

Ship currency on NCL is dollars, regardless of where you are sailing.

 

Staff will be happy to receive tips in dollars or euros. Give whatever works best for you.

I've asked the staff that question.  While they're happy for any gratuity, they far prefer to receive cash in the currency of the ports you'll be visiting.  You can get Euros at the Guest Services desk or from the ATM in the casino on Epic.

The ATMs on the ship dispense US dollars. 

 

The exchange rate on the ship is poor. Don’t exchange money just for the purposes of tipping.  The currency on the ship (for both passengers and crew) is US dollars. The crew is happy for any tip.
