It'd been almost an hour since I last ate, so I sought out another place to dine. I came across a small taco stand on the side of the road, and took a load off... I ordered six tacos and a bottle of fresh watermelon juice... The total came to $3, so I gave the lady a five dollar bill and told her to keep the change. She looked at me like she had just won the lottery...

After I finished, I began making my way back towards the ferry pier.

I made it back with plenty of time to spare in order to catch my ride back to Harvest Caye.

There was one lone seat at the very front of the boat, so of course I took it...

About fifteen minutes later we were back, and I immediately headed straight back to the ship.

After several drinks up at Vibe, I headed to Savor for dinner... Or, so I thought... I was seated quickly, and given a menu. Several minutes went by, and still no water or anything. After about 25 minutes or so, I just got up and left.

 

I headed to Wasabi for some sushi.

How did you like the Breakaway compared to Escape and The Bliss? Did any passengers get up on stage at Syd Normans as with other venues on the other ships? I did the Breakaway in '13 and '14 and am planning on returning next year for Canada/New England- did the Escape 2x last year. and have Encore next year.

The house band there plays a wide variety of old hits, as well as lesser known songs from the era. I had no idea what to expect, but I was definitely not expecting them to have five (yes, five) lead singers. Each one switched off as they all roamed about the room with their wireless microphones. It was a bit hokey at times, but they did play pretty well. There was a guy in the audience that was obviously intoxicated, and went from person to person, trying to get them to get up and dance. He was quite annoying, and he was in there every single night. He never really bothered me personally. I guess that I do have a look about me that projects "do not mess with this guy"

Just another small aside about Syd's pour house... In between songs, they would tell short stories about Syd. It was odd hearing my name over and over again. Something deep down in my lizard brain would spark each time I heard it... I guess you would have to experience it to understand... Anyhoo, we'll move on now...

Day 5: Belize City... It's weird for me to reach day five, and the cruise is only half way over... It was like I still had a whole cruise ahead of me... I enjoyed the hot tub up at Vibe. I thought about how I still had my whole life ahead of me, yet I still hadn't figured out where I was going... I went up to Vibe and took in the morning sun. I went to the buffet, and pondered on the meaning of "move along, now"

 

It seems that most of the passengers on this cruise liked to walk very slowly through the buffet line and ponder upon each and every item... Sometimes they would just stop and look at a particular item, and try to decide whether they wanted it or not... Sometimes, they would just stop for no reason at all... I tried to be cool about the situation, but sometimes I just wanted to get the item I wanted and move on... Another time when I secretly wished that I had more accurately selected my time of sailing...
