BEAV Posted February 12, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2019 Monday, Feb 11 was a busy day in San Francisco as far as cruise ships go with 3 ships in port. This is very rare for San Francisco, especially in February. Occasionally there are 2 ships in the City during the May/September migration of ships to/from Alaska and Florida. On the left is Grand Princess. No surprise there since she homeports here year round. In the center is the MSC Magnifica, and on the right the former Royal Princess. As many know Princess Diana was the Godmother of Royal Princess. She also made maritime news when she debuted in 1984 as one of the first ships built with no inside cabins. Today she is named Artania and sails for Phoenix Reisen, a German line. Both the Magnifica and Artania called in San Francisco as part of their 2019 World cruises. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/MV_Artania

We’re very lucky to have another cruise terminal as a backup that can handle 2 cruise ships. Tom😎
jondfk Posted February 14, 2019 #3 Share Posted February 14, 2019 A brief look at the 2019 Port of SF schedule shows this to be the only occasion for three ships the entire year, rare indeed. Very much looking forward to the 21st when we board Grand!
