We anticipate getting off cruise ship in Miami by 8:30 and we need to be at FLL by 12:30. There will be 10 of us, 5 children 9-12 in a van we have reserverd for 4 hours. Any recommendations on what we can do in this amount of time to keep every one entertained?

I agree, go straight to FLL. You will have lines to go through before you are through customs. They you will have to get to your rental vehicle, then drop it off. Hopefully there isn't a lot of traffic. You may have more lines at FLL.

Amazing how quickly the time goes once you exit customs.  I would get your transportation settled and head out towards Ft. Lauderdale, which is about 45 minutes (not considering any unusual traffic.) I would rather have an hour to spare being at the airport then rush, rush, rush to return vehicle, go thru security etc. etc.
