mafiadon Posted May 26, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2019 I was pricing a cruise on the Mardi Gras, under the casino rate and it picked a room that is a junior balcony, what is the difference between this and a regular balcony. Thanks for any help Linda

FTLCruiseGal Posted May 26, 2019 #3 Share Posted May 26, 2019 In looking at photos, the only real difference that I see is the balcony has a sofa inside the room, the junior balcony does not.

Thanks for any help Linda According to Carnival's website: Junior Balcony stateroom features the same size balcony as standard Balcony rooms, just with a little less interior space. Essentially, it is just a balcony without a couch.

summersigh Posted May 28, 2019 #6 Share Posted May 28, 2019 We've sailed a couple of times in a cabin without a couch. It was awkward not having anywhere to sit except on the bed or on the stool from the desk - which still left one of us sitting on the bed. We enjoy room service breakfast and relaxing for awhile before going down to late seating in the MDR. So ,,, for us ... not having a couch (or even a love seat) isn't a good choice.
