jdogg13 Posted June 7, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 7, 2019 Can anyone tell me the “nominal fee” for the calling and text package on the Escape, so you can use the function through the NCL app while on board?

htnut Posted June 8, 2019 #3 Share Posted June 8, 2019 Several people on different cruises posted on Facebook that iMessage on an iPhone worked when simply connected to a “free” WiFi service the ship has used for just booking reservations with the NCL app. If this is true, I’m surprised it hasn’t been discussed here on CC. Rare mking8288 Posted June 9, 2019 #4 Share Posted June 9, 2019 iMessage used to sometimes work over free ship WiFi inTRAnet but the https ports apparently been blocked or restricted. YMMV, as always.
SailorMiken Posted June 9, 2019 #5 Share Posted June 9, 2019 Hey Cruisers, I have been looking into the Phone & Text option through the NCL appl. At $9.95 each for the duration of the cruise, it sounds like it will work well for us as a means of communication while wondering around the ship. My question is, can two people sign into one account and use this for two phones or do I need to set up a separate account using the same reservation #? I appreciate any input. Thanks Ken
Paul Bogle Posted June 9, 2019 #6 Share Posted June 9, 2019 (edited) imessage was discussed a lot on these boards back when it worked. It also received much attention when it stopped working. Since it no longer works there really isn't any reason to discuss it. Edited June 9, 2019 by Paul Bogle
SailorMiken Posted June 9, 2019 #7 Share Posted June 9, 2019 Is imessage the same thing as the NCL Calling and text function through their appl?
Paul Bogle Posted June 9, 2019 #8 Share Posted June 9, 2019 imessage is a feature that comes built into Apple products. It allows text capability between Apple devices which have a connection to a wifi feed.
