Can anyone tell me the “nominal fee” for the calling and text package on the Escape, so you can use the function through the NCL app while on board?

Several people on different cruises posted  on Facebook that iMessage on an iPhone worked when simply connected to a “free” WiFi service the ship has used for just booking reservations with the NCL app. 

 

If this is true, I’m surprised it hasn’t been discussed here on CC.

iMessage used to sometimes work over free ship WiFi inTRAnet but the https ports apparently been blocked or restricted. YMMV, as always.

Hey Cruisers, I have been looking into the Phone & Text option through the NCL appl. At $9.95 each for the duration of the cruise, it sounds like it will work well for us as a means of communication while wondering around the ship. My question is, can two people sign into one account and use this for two phones or do I need to set up a separate account using the same reservation #? I appreciate any input. Thanks

imessage was discussed a lot on these boards back when it worked. It also received much attention when it stopped working. Since it no longer works there really isn't any reason to discuss it.

imessage is a feature that comes built into Apple products. It allows text capability between Apple devices which have a connection to a wifi feed.
